“Take A Look At The 2025 Fantasy Football Rookie Tight End Pre-Draft Rankings With Sr. NFL Analyst Justin Mark!”
1. Tyler Warren (Penn State)
At the top of the 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings is Penn State standout Tyler Warren. Depending on landing spots in the draft, he may be the only rookie who makes an impact this year as far as fantasy football goes.
Warren is a 6-6, 261-pound monster who really picked up his game last year. He has strong hands and is very physical. With his massive frame, he’s not exactly athletic or shifty. However, it doesn’t matter.
Last year Warren had 104 receptions on 135 targets. He converted that into 1,230 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns. Due to his ability to run guys over, he was second among all tight ends in missed tackles forced. He was also third overall among tight ends in contested catches.
You would think for his big frame that he’d be a good run blocker. He’s not. He reminds me a lot of Darnell Washington, only he is more aggressive and can run better. His pro comp is Jeremy Shockey but I feel Warren can perform far better in the NFL than Shockey did (no offense Mr. Shockey).

2. Colston Loveland (Michigan)
After our top spot, the 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings list is a little hit-and-miss. If you play fantasy football, you already know the tight end position is a difficult one to find consistency. The same can be said for rookies.
I wouldn’t put too much stock in drafting these other guys unless it’s in the later rounds, unless they land on a really good spot and look like the clear-cut starter. However, having said that, number two on my list is Colston Loveland out of Michigan.
Loveland is younger than Warren and just slightly smaller at 6-5, 245 pounds. He may still need some development. However, when not injured last year, he handled 37% of Michigan’s targets. He also had 40% of the air yards for Michigan, which is the top out of the tight end class.
If Loveland lands somewhere that’s willing to be patient and develop him, he could be a long-term stud. Despite recently drafting the aforementioned Darnell Washington, Loveland would fit perfectly on the Steelers, developing behind Pat Freiermuth.
3. Harold Fannin Jr. (Bowling Green)
The next guy on our 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end pre-draft rankings is from a smaller school. Don’t let that fool you though. The Bowling Green offense ran through Harold Fannin Jr as he saw 39% of their targets.
Last year, Fannin had 117 receptions for 1,555 receiving yards and ten touchdowns. He was number one among tight ends in missed tackles forced, tied for second in deep catches, third in deep yards, and tied for fourth in contested catches.
Those are impressive numbers, even for a smaller school guy. Don’t get it twisted, Bowling Green isn’t like Montana State. However, he didn’t play the same level of competition that Warren or Loveland did.
I don’t think that’ll effect his NFL impact though. Just look at his game against Penn State where he had 11 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown. He also helps himself by excelling at run blocking. Fannin Jr. is a stud.
4. Terrance Ferguson (Oregon)
The next player on my 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings is Terrance Ferguson out of Oregon. Ferguson helped himself at the combine by running the top 40 speed for tight ends at 4.63. That’s not bad for a 6-5, 255-pound dude.
He’s not a run blocker, which could impact not only how much he’s on the field, but on who drafts him. However, he is a receiving threat and has big play ability. He finished 2024 with 591 yards on 43 catches. That’s good enough for 13.7 yards per reception.
How that type of big-play production translates to the NFL is yet to be seen. However, he’ll get a chance to compete either way.
5. Gunnar Helm (Texas)
Next up on the 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings is Gunnar Helm. Helm is an interesting prospect who wasn’t used a ton in a good Texas offense. However, he had an 80% catch rate over his collegiate career. That’s the best among tight ends in the draft.
Helm will need some developmental time and a good landing spot in order to boost his tight end value. Unfortunately, at this point on our rankings list, you won’t be drafting these guys unless it’s in deep dynasty drafts.
6. Elijah Arroyo (Miami)
The next player on the 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings list is another victim of not being used as much as he probably should have. Miami’s tight end Elijah Arroyo was barely used up until this year. Even this year he only had 35 catches.
He was able to turn those 35 catches into 590 yards and seven touchdowns though. That’s 16.9 yards per catch, which is second-best in this tight end class. He’s tight for fourth in deep catches and fourth in deep yards among tight ends.
Arroyo has zero career drops. Keep in mind, that’s with the limited usage. It’s still an impressive stat, however, and one that NFL teams will keep their eyes on. He’s able to line up in the slot or as a wingback and that versatility could potentially see him soar up this list depending on where he lands and how he’s used.
7. Mason Taylor (LSU)
At the seventh spot on my 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end pre-draft rankings is Jason Taylor‘s son, Mason Taylor. He’s a younger prospect and will likely need time to develop. However, he’s been consistent three years in a row, catching 38, 36, and 55 passes.
In 2024, Taylor had 55 catches for 546 yards. He’s able to be lined up off the line of scrimmage and create mismatches for both linebackers and safeties. If he can harness that NFL-caliber name as well as his talent, he could become a nice producing player.
8. Thomas Fidone (Nebraska)
As an Iowan, it’s hard putting a Nebraska Cornhusker on my 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end rankings. However, I can’t deny that the 6-5, 240-pound Cornhusker, Thomas Fidone II, has some talent. He has the biggest hands and longest arms in this tight end class.
He really elevated his draft stock during the combine, showing his athleticism and size. He could become a decent NFL tight end if given time.
9. Luke Lachey (Iowa)
My 2025 fantasy football rookie tight end pre-draft rankings ended with Fidone. However, I can’t help myself with throwing on the latest out of the Iowa Hawkeyes. T.J. Hockenson, George Kittle, and Sam Laporta have all come out of the same program and performed lights out in the NFL.
Don’t get time wrong, I know Luke Lachey is not them. However, he has good size for the NFL and much like all Iowa tight ends, he can catch and block. Sure, he didn’t have a lot of catches for Iowa. That doesn’t mean he won’t. The right weight room and strength coach could do wonders for his NFL career.
