On to week 3! After two games it has already been a crazy season. Let’s keep your squads on track with some starts and sits for the third matchup of the year.
Have injuries already derailed your season? Because same… Even with many injuries around the league, the season is FAR from over. We have more data now and are starting to get a better picture of who is who and what is what. If you have lost some stars, check out our waiver wire and ranking articles on our website and in our newsletter! Below we also will go through 12 (3 at each position!) names to start or sit in week 3.
Disclaimers! In this series, we will not name the stars like Myles Garrett and Roquan Smith (unless something causes one to be a sit). I will also do my best to avoid an absurdly deep cut former prospect that I love (if you follow the RoD PoD, you know I can tend to do this!) In this series I will be basing picks off of a balanced scoring system (like the IDP+ Invitational, which also boosts DTs and CBs to even their production out), to cover as many bases as possible! Please also note that mentions of previous finishes/points allowed come from the IDP+ data suite. If you have a more complex league scoring system, these suggestions may serve as a baseline. For a more degenerate breakdown, jump into Discord and chat with our stellar team! Now that the intro is done, let’s introduce the week 3 start-sit options!
Start: DT Devonte Wyatt, Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans
It is tough to call a start of the week on a player with less than 50% of team snaps on the season. However, Wyatt was spectacular in week 2 and has a great matchup this week. Wyatt finished as DT4 (IDPI scoring) and faces Will Levis’ Titans who allowed three top-24 DTs last week (all 13.50+ points). Wyatt has elite pass rush metrics thus far, after beginning to break out last season. The Titans’ OL has improved, but still is a weakness, as is Will Levis’ craziness with the ball. Levis takes sacks on over 10% of his passes, giving the Packers’ budding star runway.
Last week: Leonard Williams, Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots. Finished with 28.25 points (IDPI scoring). 1.5 sacks, 4 QB hits, 1 solo and 3 assisted tackles. Finished 0.25 off of DT1 overall.
Sit: DT Grady Jarrett, Atlanta Falcons vs Kansas City Chiefs (SNF)
As scary as it is to suggest starting a part-time player, it may be more frightening to suggest benching a star. The Chiefs’ strength on offense (minus Patrick Mahomes) is their interior offensive line. They have allowed 40 total points to DTs through 2 games, 5th fewest in the league. This includes holding superstar Nnamdi Madibuike to 11.50 points in week 1 and last week’s second sit B.J. Hill to 1 point last week. Jarrett has had a career renaissance this season, as the current DT3. However, neither interior OL he has faced is in the same stratosphere as Kansas City’s. Jarrett can still be started if you have no other options, but should not be expected to have a big day.
Last week: Ed Oliver, Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins (TNF). Finished with 19.50 points. 1 sack, 1 QB hit, 3 solo tackles (2 for loss). DT5 overall… hope you started him despite my advice!
Sit: DT Grover Stewart, Indianapolis Colts vs Chicago Bears.

I will not be perfect, but promise to give this my best each week and give well-thought and backed information.
