We are two weeks into the preseason. Here are some offensive waiver wire Preseason Week 3 pick-ups to get a head start in your redraft leagues.
I will be writing a weekly offensive waiver article this year and why not get a head start in the preseason? If your redraft league has already drafted, then don’t be passive but watch out for possible waiver adds. Weekly I will give options for obvious waiver adds, deep league waiver adds, and players not to waste your waivers on. Let’s look at offensive waiver wire preseason Week 3 pick-ups.
Obvious Waiver Adds
Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers
Christian Watson was the bigger name coming out of the draft but with injuries that gave Doubs a leg up. Doubs did struggle early on but has come on strong in camp as of late. He has been targeted 12 times in preseason for six catches and two touchdowns. You want receivers that are attached to Aaron Rodgers, and Doubs looks to be picking up steam.
Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Likely was my sixth-ranked tight end in my rookie rankings, and my only worry was his blocking ability. The Ravens look to use him mainly just as a receiving option so those worries are put aside. With the lack of proven receiving options, the Ravens may use more two tight-end packages and even line Likely up on the outside. He looks to have a big role on the offense this season and is a matchup nightmare.
We haven’t seen much of Isaiah Likely’s tackle breaking ability in training camp cause, well, it’s training camp. Another facet of the talented rookie’s game on display tonight. pic.twitter.com/TwDNn1T3wT

Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
He has been getting more work with a fumble by Antonio Gibson in the first preseason game and even started the second game. I still see Gibson as the starter but there is going to be a short leash.
Though Gibson may be the starter, I see Robinson getting a good amount of playing time this year. Even if Robinson shares the backfield, I still see him as a flex option on an underrated offense coming into the season.

Antonio Gibson – 20— Graham Barfield (@GrahamBarfield) August 21, 2022
Isaih Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Pacheco has been impressive in camp, and reports are him getting reps with the first team. I am not ready to give up on Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Both will share time so that muddies the picture a little bit but with CEH’s injury history, Pacheco is a must-own on this offense. I see Pacheco as a bigger value in dynasty but does have flex value this year.
Deep League Waiver Adds
Ty Chandler, RB, Minnesota Vikings
I was surprised by how fast Chandler was at the combine, and after watching the tape, I really liked him. He goes to a deep backfield but has shown good things in the preseason. After rushing for 50 yards in week one, he scored the only touchdown in the second game. This is for deeper leagues, but with Dalvin Cook‘s injury history, I could see a path for fantasy relevance for Chandler.
Mike Harley Jr., WR, Cleveland Browns
I know that Amari Cooper and Donovan People Jones were not playing against the Eagles but Harley showed some good things. He was targeted seven times and made some tough catches. Harley is the leading receiver in Miami history and also can be valuable on special teams. Anthony Schwartz has been dealing with drops, so Harley in deeper leagues could be valuable this season.

David Sills, WR, New York Giants
The Giant’s wide receiver room has talent but is not proven. David Sills is vying to move up the depth chart, and last game he caught five of seven targets for 56 yards. Sills and Collin Johnson were impressive and looking for serious playing time. With the injury to Collin Johnson, Sills has a head up and is someone to the roster.
Thought this comment from Brian Daboll definitely stood out.
“Collin Johnson, David Sills, they’ve stepped their game up. I mean they’re right in the mix. Not just to make a team but to play.” 🧐 #giants

Tyler Badie, RB, Baltimore Ravens
There are injury concerns for the Raven’s running backs as J.K. Dobbins, and Gus Edwards is still recovering. Mike Davis was signed for depth, but I think Tyler Badie could also be utilized if Dobbins and Edwards miss time.
I was concerned about Badie running between the tackles, but he showed good toughness and burst against the Cardinals. Badie also provides a more dynamic pass catcher than Davis.
Don’t Fall For it
Tyler Goodson, RB Green Bay Packers
I really like Goodson’s skillset coming out of Iowa and wanted him to go to a more wide-open offense in the NFL. He did, but in a deep depth chart and even with Kylin Hill‘s injury, I don’t see him having a big impact this year. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are going to get most of the opportunities this season. He probably will be more NFL impactful than fantasy relevant this season.
Raheem Blackshear, RB Buffalo Bills
He had an impressive game this week for the Bills, but I do not see him having serious fantasy implications without an injury to James Cook. His skill set is similar to Cook, and also has two other running backs ahead of him on the depth chart.
Devon Allen, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Allen had an exciting touchdown in the game against the Browns and showed off his Olympic track speed. He only has one target, and I do not see him getting enough snaps in this deep, wide receiver group for the Eagles.
