Hopefully you are not scrounging through waivers at this point in the season but waivers are always worth a look. Read here to see who the top IDP waiver adds are after week twelve.

We are approaching week 13 of the NFL season and some leagues are starting their fantasy playoffs. At this point, you should hopefully have your lineups set in stone but you may still be looking to fill out your bench. Week 13 waivers are very thin but there are still some very productive late bloomers that could be added to your roster to make a difference. Read further to see who the top IDP adds are following week twelve.

Shaq Lawson – Defensive End Buffalo Bills

2019 Stats: 20 tackles (12 solo), eight tackles for a loss, five sacks and one pass defensed.

I have been waiting for Shaq Lawson to break out for two years now. With his youth and talent, surpassing Trent Murphy on the depth chart should not be an issue. To this point, it has been, but that finally seems like it is going to change. Shaq Lawson has already set a career high in sacks, tackles for a loss and tied a career high for QB hits 12 games into the season. Week 11 saw him play his highest snap count of the season and that kept going in week 12. Over his last two games he has four tackles, three tackles for a loss and three sacks. His snap share should continue to rise as the Bills make a playoff push.

Andrew Adams – Safety Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2019 Stats: 30 tackles (29 solo), one tackle for a loss, two passes defensed and a forced fumble.

Andrew Adams has started the last six games for the Buccaneers and has provided a nice impact. He is averaging five tackles a game and provides some play-making ability. Just last season he had nine passes defended and four interceptions in only four starts for the Buccaneers. Adams should continue to start this season, and outside of week 13 against Jacksonville, has a very friendly schedule towards safeties for the remainder of the season.

Amani Oruwariye – Cornerback Detroit Lions

2019 Stats: Six tackles, two passes defensed and one interception. (4 games)

I had Oruwariye as one of my top rated rookie cornerbacks after the 2019 NFL draft. His combination of size, speed and cover skills are a recipe for great NFL success. As for a fantasy standpoint he also plays across from lock-down corner Darius Slay. Oruwariye came on much slower than anticipated for me but has finally seemed to crack the starting lineup. Week 12 was the first, (and only), week where he played significant snaps but the results were excellent. He finished with five tackles, two passes defended and an interception in his first big NFL game action. Oruwariye can provide great numbers down the stretch and has Chicago in week 13 who have been throwing the ball more and week 15 he gets the Buccaneers who allow the most points to opposing corners.

Julian Love – Cornerback New York Giants

2019 Stats: One tackle, one pass defensed and one interception.

Those numbers look terrible, don’t they? Hear me out though. Love has been stuck behind a solid group of cornerbacks and two good starting safeties. It has been very difficult for the rookie to crack the starting lineup. Jabrill Peppers went down in the Giants week 12 match-up and the outlook is very grim for Peppers. He has been diagnosed with a transverse process fracture in his back, an injury similar to the one that has kept Matthew Stafford out for weeks. Love filled in for Peppers late and provided a pass defended and an interception. Love will most likely start at safety for the Giants for the rest of the season and is listed as a cornerback. He could make for a nice addition to finish out the season.

Sean Lee – Linebacker Dallas Cowboys

2019 Stats: 45 tackles (30 solo), one tackle for a loss and three passes defended.

Everybody thought that Sean Lee’s days were numbered as a significant producer for the Dallas Cowboys…think again. Stud linebacker Leighton Vander Esch has been battling neck issues this season and it flared up again in week 12. Vander Esch has had a history of neck issues dating back to his time at Boise St. He is the prized linebacker on this team for the future of the club, alongside Jaylon Smith. The Cowboys are only 6-5 on the season and should be in no rush to jeopardize the career of Vander Esch for a close to lost season. Lee has started in Vander Esch’s spot twice this season and provided 18 tackles (13 solo), one tackle for a loss and two passes defended in those games. If the Cowboys err on the side of caution with Vander Esch, then Sean Lee could make a significant impact down the stretch.

Conclusion

With the fantasy playoffs looming in the very near future, it is never too late to add excellent depth. It is also the time of year to add studs off of waivers, you do not necessarily need, to block your competitors from picking them up. All of the players in this article have the potential to make a difference down the stretch for their respective teams. Add them to your roster and roll into the playoffs with a chip on your shoulder.
