It’s that time of the year when we start to look at redraft ADP. Let’s look at some IDP gems with an ADP of over 300 that can add some worthwhile depth to your redraft fantasy team!
I was just recently reading Jase Abbey’s article “IDP Fantasy Redraft Top 10 Series: DT Edition,” and I remember thinking, “The interior defensive line deserves more respect.” This then sent me down a rabbit hole of football thoughts which eventually led me to think up some fantasy-relevant players who are criminally undervalued.
I then was inspired to dive into some redraft ADP and find some players who I feel aren’t getting their proper respect at their current ADP.
The average draft position used for reference in this article includes defensive and offensive players, so I will review four players, one of which will be offensive. All ADP data comes from Sleeper, yearly finish by position data is from FantasyPros, and all stats are from PFF.
Redraft IDP Gems
Kamren Curl, DB, Washington Commanders
Sleeper: DB MFL/Yahoo: S
Year | Defensive Back Yearly Finish via FantasyPros | Games played | FPPG AVG. | Snap % |
2021 | 41st | 16 | 8.8 | SLOT: 27.7% FS: 33.8% BOX: 27.3% |
2020 | 22nd | 16 | 9.9 | SLOT: 23.2% FS: 21.8% BOX: 44.3% |
Current Situation
Ftnfantasy.com currently provides an ADP of 317.9 for the Commanders’ defensive back. Last season, Curl was fourth in total snaps on the Washington defense and second in tackles behind Cole Holcomb.
Curl was targeted 56 times last season, making him the 10th highest targeted safety and allowing a 60.7 completion rate. He had the second-highest snap count of the safeties in Washington last season but still led the Commanders secondary in pressures and tackles in 2021.
The Commanders did not resign veteran safety Landon Collins and added Percy Butler via the 2022 NFL draft. Butler is more of a free safety who needs time to develop his run defense further, so the opportunity for Curl’s box snaps could increase, and his free safety reps could see a decrease in 2022.
Washington’s total snaps at the safety position are allocated to two leading players who receive over 800 and the other over 600 snaps, and a third player to receive around 150-300 snaps. Curl should be the featured defensive back from Washington for statistical and, thus, fantasy purposes.
Curl’s best season came in 2020 when he saw nearly half of his defensive positioning come from the box. This coming season with Landon Collins out of the picture, it’s not absurd to believe Curl could return to DB2 this coming season. With his current ADP just after 300, you can wait on the defensive back position to better fill your team without losing much value in your starting secondary roster spot.
My fellow IDP humans. Who would you rather have in your flex?

Jordan Hicks, LB, Minnesota Vikings
All Platforms: LB
Year | Linebacker Yearly Finish via FantasyPros | Games played | FPPG AVG. | Pressures/ Tackles |
2021 | 17th | 17 | 11.9 | 17/119 |
2020 | 21st | 16 | 11.6 | 12/119 |
Current Situation
Hicks totaled 1,113 snaps and was the fifth-highest among all linebackers in the NFL last season with the Arizona Cardinals. It should also be noted that Jordan Hicks was seventh in total pressures in the NFL. Through Hicks’ past three seasons, he has been known to be a solid lock to gain consistent weekly points for your IDP rosters.
The Cardinals let Hicks walk via free agency and, with his third contract, brought in his third team as well. The Minnesota Vikings have a new defensive coordinator in Ed Donatell, who runs multiple defensive fronts but primarily should be a 3-4 defense.
Hicks, aside from a few games in 2019 as the weak side backer, has primarily been lined up as the inside linebacker. He will be an inside linebacker for Minnesota and could also receive plenty of targets through the air.
In 2021, Eric Kendricks was the linebacker with the most snaps for the Vikings, a defense that featured two other linebackers with over 700 snaps. The team is new, however, and the opportunity and history are both there for Hicks.
Fantasy managers cannot afford to miss out on a player going this late in drafts. A player who is a consistent tackler and targeted in coverage (he finished tied for 14th in the NFL in 2021 with 77 targets). Ftnfantasy.com currently provides an ADP of 351.7 for the newly signed Vikings linebacker.
If you find yourself late in a draft and punted the linebacker position, Jordan Hicks could be the late-round draft selection that helps give your fantasy team the consistency it needs to win every week.
In what rounds do you begin to start eying the IDP players in your fantasy leagues that include players from both sides of the ball? 🤔👀🛡

T.J. Edwards, LB, Philadelphia Eagles
All Platforms: LB
Year | Linebacker Yearly Finish via FantasyPros | Games played | FPPG AVG. | Pressures/Tackles |
2021 | 31st | 16 | 10.9 | 3/123 |
2020 | 67th | 12 | 8.7 | 2/64 |
Current Situation
T.J. Edwards’ role in the Eagles’ defense has grown since he went undrafted in 2019. Last season, Edwards had the 10th most snaps for Philidelphia’s defense while logging the second-most tackles and being fifth on the Eagles’ defense in targets. Alex Singleton was the Eagles’ featured linebacker, but this off-season, he signed a one-year deal with Denver, so he is out of the picture.
With Singleton’s departure, the Eagles filled the void by signing the 2021 Los Angeles Charger’s leader in tackles — Kyzir White — to a one-year deal and selecting former Georgia Bulldog linebacker Nakobe Dean in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft.
Perhaps the new additions are the reason for Edwards’ current ADP. Ftnfantasy.com currently provides an ADP of 398.2 for the presumed starting linebacker in Phillidelphia. T.J. Edwards has never wowed with sacks or had many pressures to show on the stat sheet; however, Edwards is a steady tackler who can provide your roster with a dependable amount of points consistently in your LB2 role.
I only say LB2 as I look for more upside in my flex position, but if you are desperate for consistent points this season, draft Edwards late. He should be the starter at the beginning of the season. However, if Nakobe Dean shows any promise early, the Eagles could seek a more significant role for the rookie. At this current ADP, you would be wise to add him to your roster — even if it is as a depth piece.
Kendrick Bourne, WR, New England Patriots
All Platforms: WR
Year | WR PPR Yearly Finish via FantasyPros | Games played | FPPG AVG. | Catches for First Down |
2021 | 32nd | 16 | 10.9 | 33 |
2020 | 60th | 15 | 8.7 | 35 |
Current Situation
Last season, Bourne was targeted in between the LOS and nine yards on 53.3% of his targets. He also averaged 15.1 yards per reception, and 57% of his touchdowns came when targeted between 10-19 yards downfield. Bourne was lined up as a slot receiver 37.1% of the time and finished the 2021 season with a drop rate of 3.1%.
Ftnfantasy.com currently provides an ADP of 353.6 for Bourne. I believe his current ADP is a considerable bargain in drafts — he is a solid WR3/Flex player in most weeks. Last season, Bourne was targeted five or more times in only six games, thus making it challenging to create a case for having him higher than a WR3/flex option.
The Patriots added DeVante Parker via free agency and Tyquan Thornton through the draft this off-season. I anticipate Nelson Agholor taking a back seat to Parker, and the rookie Thornton could get a few deep shots/slot snaps but nothing serious that would dive into Bourne’s targets.
I am curious to see how the Patriots’ offense will look with no one currently listed as New England’s offensive coordinator. Under former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels last season, the Patriots targeted a wideout on 55.2% of their passes.
In Kendrick Bourne’s last two seasons, he has been targeted over 70 times. Regardless of whom is calling plays for the Patriots, I believe Bourne will continue to have opportunities for this season, at the very least. Bourne is practically free at his current ADP and should be a late-round addition to any offensive draft this off-season.
