Week 8 gave us one of the most significant injuries of the year. Check out the Offensive Players Injury Report to catch up on all the injuries.
The Derrick Henry injury has left many fantasy managers scrambling. However, we could have some stars returning to the field in Week 9. Read the NFL Week 9 Injury Report to find out which ones!
Be sure to check back for updates as more information comes in.
For a quick reference tool, check out the new injury tracker that I will be updating up until kickoff.
NFL Week 9 Injury Report for Offensive Players
DeAndre Hopkins, WR – Questionable
Hopkins continues to be limited with a hamstring injury. He missed significant stretches of Week 8 and is a scary play even if active.
Kyler Murray, QB – Questionable
Murry sprained his ankle in Week 8 and has a long week to recover after playing on Thursday night. Monitor Murray’s practice participation as the week closes to see if he will be available in Week 9. If Murray is unable to play, Colt McCoy would be the presumed starter.
Calvin Ridley, WR – Out?
Ridley was a surprise inactive Sunday for personal reasons. This marks the second time this year that Ridley has missed a game for this reason. This time, Ridley posted on Twitter that he has been dealing with some mental health issues. He does not have an expected return date at this time.

Sammy Watkins, WR – Questionable
Watkins missed Weeks 6 and 7 with a hamstring injury and should be monitored coming off the team’s Week 8 bye.
Latavius Murray, RB – Questionable
Murray missed Week 7 with an ankle injury. Hopefully, he can return in Week 9, but we won’t have more information until practice reports start being released.
Dawson Knox, TE – Questionable
Knox left Week 6 with a hand injury that was later revealed to be a broken bone that required surgery. The initial timeline for the injury was three weeks, meaning he should be back in Week 10 but has not been ruled out for Week 9 yet.
Christian McCaffrey, RB – Injured Reserve
McCaffrey is still on injured reserve, eligible to return in Week 9. Watch to see if the team decides to activate him prior to Sunday.
Sam Darnold, QB – Questionable
Darnold suffered a concussion in Week 8 and must clear the league’s concussion protocol to get back on the field for Week 9. If he misses, backup P.J. Walker would get the start.
Tarik Cohen, RB (knee – ACL)
David Montgomery, RB – IR
Montgomery was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 5. He will be eligible to return Week 8 but his initial timeline of four to five weeks would make a return Week 9 or 10 more likely. With the Bears’ bye week in Week 10, I would expect Montgomery back Week 11.
Damien Williams, RB – Questionable
Williams left Week 8 with a knee injury and is questionable for Week 9. Fellow running back Khalil Herbert is likely to get significant opportunities if Williams is limited in any way.
No new injuries were reported.
Kareem Hunt, RB – Injured Reserve
Hunt left Week 6 with a calf injury and was placed on injured reserve. He will be eligible to return in Week 10 at the earliest.
Dak Prescott, QB – Questionable
Prescott was ruled out on game-day in Week 8 and is questionable for Week 9 with a calf injury. Prescott did warm-up and had some practice reps last week so hopefully, he can return soon.
Michael Gallup, WR – IR
Gallup is on injured reserve with a previously reported calf injury but was designated to return last week. This opened a 21-day window for the team to officially activate him but does not necessarily mean he will play this week.
Jerry Jeudy, WR – Probable
Jeudy returned to action in Week 8 and should be good to go in Week 9 barring a setback.
Noah Fant, TE – Questionable (COVID-19)
Fant was placed on the COVID list and is questionable for Week 9. History this season has shown he is likely to miss this week.
Bye Week
Tyrell Williams, WR – IR
Currently on injured reserve with a previously reported concussion. Eligible to return at any time but there is no indication of when he might return.
T.J. Hockenson, TE – Bye Week
Hockenson has been questionable leading up to the past few games. Hopefully the added rest this week will allow him to fully recover.
Jamaal Williams, RB – Bye Week
Williams was a game-day inactive in Week 8. The bye week may give him enough time to recover from his thigh injury to return to his normal role in Week 10.
Update
Aaron Rodgers, QB – Out COVID-19
Rodgers tested positive for COVID and is out for Week 9. There is a high chance that the reigning MVP will miss Week 10 as well since he is unvaccinated. The minimum absence for unvaccinated players is 10 days as opposed to the requirement of two negative tests for vaccinated players.
Davante Adams, WR – Questionable (COVID-19)
Adams missed Week 8 in the league’s COVID-19 protocols and remains questionable for Week 9.
Update: Adams has been activated from the COVID-19 list.
Allen Lazard, WR
Lazard missed Week 8 on the COVID-19 list but has now been activated for Week 9.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR IR
Valdes-Scantling is eligible to return at any time from his hamstring injury and there is hope that he will return to the lineup this week.
Robert Tonyan, TE – IR (Season-ending)
Tonyan suffered an ACL tear in Week 8 and will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
Tyrod Taylor, QB – Questionable
Taylor is on injured reserve and eligible to be activated at any time, depending on how his hamstring injury is progressing. He was thought to be close last week so I’m expecting a return in Week 9.
T.Y. Hilton, WR – Out
Hilton’s injury woes continued in Week 8 as he was able to play through a quad injury only to exit the game early with a concussion. He has already been ruled out of Week 9’s Thursday night game against the Jets.
James Robinson, RB – Questionable
Robinson left Week 8 with a foot injury that turned out to be a bruised heel. He avoided a long-term injury but remains questionable for Week 9. Carlos Hyde saw the increased opportunity after Robinson’s exit and would be the assumed beneficiary if Robinson does miss time.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB – Out
Edwards-Helaire was out Week 6 with a previously reported injury. He will be out of action for a few weeks but a more definitive timeline isn’t available yet.
Josh Jacobs, RB
Jacobs suffered a chest injury in Week 7 but is not expected to miss time. Keep an eye on Jacobs coming off of the Week 8 bye to see if he will be able to remain in the lineup for Week 9.
Darren Waller, TE – Questionable
Waller missed Week 7 with an ankle injury that popped up late in the week. Keep an eye on his status leading up to Week 9 to see if he is able to return to practice and hopefully the lineup.
Henry Ruggs, WR – Questionable
Ruggs played a major part in a tragic accident Tuesday morning. While not an injury, this is, unfortunately, a situation that we will have to continue to monitor as Ruggs could spend up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Update: Ruggs was released by the Raiders and by many accounts is unlikely to ever play in the NFL again

Austin Ekeler, RB
Ekeler had a questionable hip injury going into Week 8 but did not appear to be affected. He should be a full go for Week 9.
Tutu Atwell, WR – IR (season-ending)
The rookie wide receiver suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 8.
Malcolm Brown, RB – IR
Miami placed Brown on injured reserve with a quad injury and he will be out until at least Week 11. The effect Brown’s absence has on Myles Gaskin is likely more significant to fantasy managers than not having Brown for their lineups.
Will Fuller, WR – IR
Fuller is on injured reserve with a previously reported fractured finger. He is eligible to return at any time but may not practice this week.
DeVante Parker, WR – Questionable
Parker returned from a hamstring injury to play in Week 8 and should be good to go for Week 9.
Did not have any new injuries to report.
Did not have any new injuries to report.
Jameis Winston, QB – IR (season-ending)
Winston suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 8 and may be done for good as the Saints’ starter.
Taysom Hill, QB – Questionable
Hill suffered a concussion in Week 5 and has not yet cleared the league’s concussion protocol. It is uncertain whether he will be able to return in time for Week 9. Trevor Siemian would be the Saints’ starter with both Winston and Hill out.
Michael Thomas, WR – PUP
Thomas is eligible to come off of the PUP list, but will likely miss a few more weeks.
Update: Thomas reportedly had a new issue come up with his ankle injury and according to his Twitter will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
— Michael Thomas (@Cantguardmike) November 3, 2021
Saquon Barkley, RB – Questionable
Barkley has missed three games with an ankle injury and is questionable for Week 9.
Kenny Golladay, WR – Questionable
Golladay has been absent from the lineup since Week 6 with a hyperextended knee and remains questionable.
Kadarius Toney, WR – Questionable
Toney was active on Monday night, but exited early with a thumb injury. His status is unknown for Week 9 and will likely be uncertain until late in the week.
Sterling Shepard, WR – Doubtful
Shepard was active for Week 8’s game but left with a quad injury. There is some concern that he could miss multiple weeks. Keep an eye out for updates as to the extent of his injury.
Zach Wilson, QB – Out
Wilson left Week 7 after suffering a strained PCL in his knee. The injury is likely to keep him sidelined for 2-4 weeks making his likely return somewhere between Weeks 10 and 12.
Miles Sanders, RB – Injured Reserve
Sanders suffered a low ankle sprain in Week 7 and was subsequently placed on injured reserve. He will be eligible to return in Week 11.
Jalen Reagor, WR – Questionable
Reagor suffered an ankle injury in Week 8 and is questionable for Week 9.
Chase Claypool, WR
Claypool should be good to go for Week 9 but did have some days of limited practice last week due to a hamstring issue. Keep an eye out to make sure that he logs a full practice by the end of the week.
Bye Week
Russell Wilson, QB – IR
Wilson is on injured reserve with a previously reported finger injury. His earliest return is in Week 10.
Chris Carson, RB – IR
Carson was placed on IR with the neck injury that kept him out of Week 6. He will be eligible to return in Week 10.
Alex Collins, RB – Bye Week
Collins was questionable for Week 8 with a groin injury but was able to play. If Chris Carson continues to miss time following the Week 9 bye, Collins could continue to be a viable replacement.
George Kittle, TE – IR
Kittle is eligible to return from a calf injury, but a timeline has not been given at this point.
Deebo Samuel, WR – Questionable
Samuel is expected to be limited in practice this week with a calf injury.
Jeff Wilson, RB – IR
Wilson will resume practicing this week, giving the 49ers 21 days to activate him from IR.
Bye Week
Rob Gronkowski, TE – Bye Week
Gronkowski returned from his rib injury to play in Week 8 but left with back spasms. His status will be uncertain for Week 9.
Antonio Brown, WR – Bye Week
Brown missed Week 7 and 8 with an ankle injury and has been wearing a boot, making his status following the Week 9 bye uncertain at best.
Julio Jones, WR – Questionable
Jones should probably be considered a weekly game-time decision after missing Week 8 and being on and off the injury report most of this season.
Derrick Henry, RB – Injured Reserve (maybe season-ending)
Henry suffered a foot injury later revealed to be a fractured metatarsal but finished the game. He underwent surgery on Tuesday and is likely out for the season.
Titans’ RB Derrick Henry suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury during Sunday’s 34-31 win over Indianapolis, sources reported ESPN. Henry is undergoing an MRI today to determine the full extent of the damage.

Bye Week
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB – IR
Fitzpatrick is on injured reserve with a previously reported injury.
Curtis Samuel, WR – Bye Week
Samuel has missed the past few weeks with a long-standing groin injury and remains questionable going into the bye week.
Logan Thomas, TE – IR
Thomas left during Week 4 with a hamstring injury and WFT placed him on injured reserve prior to Week 5. He is eligible to return and is expected to return to practice following the Week 9 bye, opening a 21-day window to be activated.
Antonio Gibson, RB – Bye Week
Gibson continues to play through a shin injury but more concerning is that his role may be changing in the offense.
