Week 2 of college football is in the books. Let’s take a look at some NCAA IDP Waiver Adds for Week 3.
IDP for college football can be hard to figure out. Weekly, I will provide NCAA Waiver Adds for IDP players who are rostered under 50%, according to Fantrax. The goal of these articles is to give insight into both College Fantasy Redraft and Campus to Canton (C2C) leagues. Let’s take a look at some players to check for your league’s waiver wire!
Disclaimer: All league sizes and formats are different. Meaning some of these players may or may not be available in your league.
Defensive Linemen
Sam Williams, Mississippi -16% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss
The Mississippi defense is greatly improved and Williams has been a big part of that. He has three sacks in two games and plays a hybrid role as a pass rusher. Williams will not have a ton of tackles but has the ability to get sacks and tackles for loss.
Felix Anudike, Kansas State – 1% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 5 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 tackles for loss
Anudike only had one tackle in Week 1 but saw an increase in snaps from 32 to 41. This increase helped him have an impressive outing with three sacks. Anudike is another lineman who provides more pass-rushing ability than the ability to stop the run.
Linebackers
Darien Butler, Arizona State – 10% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss
Butler’s main roles are coverage and run stopper, but he is also able to get sacks in his small amount of pass-rushing opportunities (eight total). Butler is averaging 46 snaps a game and seems to have a safe floor with having at least five tackles in both games.
JD Bertrand, Notre Dame – 5% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 11 tackles, 1 sack, 3 tackles for loss
Notre Dame’s defense is not as dominant as last year’s, but there are still strong producers. Bertrand has a sack in each game and over eight tackles in both. Like Butler, Bertrand is more of coverage and run stopper at linebacker. He has two sacks in 15 pass-rushing opportunities.
Defensive Backs
BeeJay Williamson, Louisiana Tech – 3% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 6 tackles
Williamson, a freshman, increased snaps from 44 to 75 in Week 2 and showed an increase in tackles from three to eight. At safety, he is in coverage most of the time and so far has allowed nine receptions on 12 targets.
For a DB, you want a player who is not necessarily a shut-down player but one who has a lot of tackles. Williamson is a good add in C2C formats as he should have three years of production.
JL Skinner, Boise State – 9% rostered
Week 2 Stat Line: 9 tackles
Skinner is used more as a run defender than Williams, and he played a little under 50% in this role. In coverage, Skinner has allowed eight receptions on nine targets, so plenty of opportunity on tackles after receptions. Snap wise, he decreased from 90 to 58 but still had a nice day with nine tackles. Skinner has half of his production in 2020 after two games, so he should continue to provide solid tackle numbers.
