Jacob Phillips left practice after an arm injury and is likely done for the season.
Jacob Phillips was having himself a very strong camp alongside rookie Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Both had seen extended runs with the first-team defense with Anthony Walker on the shelf. Unfortunately for Phillips, his season is over before it can even take off. Adam Schefter reported that Phillips has a confirmed torn bicep muscle and will likely miss the remainder of the season:
Browns’ linebacker Jacob Phillips tore his biceps tendon and is now most likely to miss the season, per source. Phillips was the Browns’ 2020 3rd-round pick and a key contributor on defense.

What does this mean for the Browns? Well, Owusu-Kormoah fans should be ecstatic, as he looked phenomenal in the team’s first preseason game. There is a great chance that he will be the linebacker starting next to Anthony Walker at the beginning of the season.
Walker will provide some great run defense while Owusu-Kormaoh will provide speed and coverage from the position. As much as you hate to see a young, up-and-coming player go down with an injury, it is not debilitating for the Browns. Phillips is likely still part of the future in Cleveland and the team has a bright future. He is definitely still someone to hold on to in all IDP formats.
