Week 5 IDP Fantasy Football Starts And Sits

I’ve got some big shoes to fill this week stepping in for the The Tipster for your IDP fantasy starts and sits.

I always say if anyone asks me to use Excel i’ll have to quit my job, so I’ll leave the charts to the real pro @HBogart27 and get right into it.

Defensive Line Starts

I want a big part of LA Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald again this week after his two-sack performance in Week 4 that included three tackles. Donald seems to string together a few consistent monster games, and he looked like a force. Looks like one of the top IDP DL is back and put the first three weeks of a sub-par start to the season behind him.

How about taking a chance and starting Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey? We know Buffalo’s offense combines an anemic offensive line with a committed running game. At least a sack to go with a few tackles should be Casey’s floor.

Linebacker Starts

Buffalo Rumblings notes defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier emphasized the Bills are trying to get both Matt Milano and Ramon Humber snaps on the weak side of the Buffalo 4-3. Milano, who is a week removed from AFC defensive player of the week honors after a monster game against the Vikings, will go against a run-heavy Tennessee Titans attack this week. Expecting Milano to fall somewhere between his Week 3 and Week 4 results seems pretty reasonable after 55-snap dud last week.

I’ve seen New York Giants linebacker Alec Ogletree traded in one league and cut in another, which tells me owners are starting to wonder if plus-production is in the rearview for Ogletree. Still a hyped player with a bigger name in IDP circles, Ogletree logged the highest snap-count in Week 4 with a 70 percent share and responded with five tackles and seven assisted tackles.

Linebacker Sits

I think Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner is living off his past at this point in his IDP career. While his per game tackles are consistent and arguably respectable, Wagner’s ho-hum four-tackle production in each game the linebacker played in so far this season can be topped from other players. Especially when you note Wagner played 74 Week-1 snaps, 61 Week-3 snaps and 60 Week-4 snaps.

Jadeveon Clowney just disappoints week after week. With two sacks and eight total tackles this season, you can drop Clowney and look for better options.

Defensive Back Starts

Well what do we have here? Carolina Panthers rookie Donte Jackson played 61 Week 3 snaps and logged seven tackles plus two picks. In Week 2, Jackson played 42 snaps and pulled in another seven tackles for IDPers while chipping in a pick. Check your wire if he’s available and give him a start in Week 5.

I’m going a little deep here. Real deep, because I’m taking a risk and giving E.J. Gaines a start stamp. With Terrance Mitchell being placed on injured reserve, the Browns will look to Gaines to fill the snaps.

Defensive Back Sits

Green Bay Packers safety Josh Jones will have to prove something before getting a start in lineups.

Kareem Jackson’s shift to cornerback by the Houston Texans then back to safety, then — where is he playing now? Either way in Week 4 Jackson logged 90 snaps and only provided IDP owners with three solos.

Keep a look out for Jon Somerset’s, @Orangeman3142, starts and sits article later this week for more information for your line ups.
