IDP MVP?

I’m going to go ahead and say it, Darius Leonard is the IDP MVP. He has almost 20 tackles more than the next LB on the list to go along with 6 sacks and 4 forced fumbles. Anybody who has him on their team knows his weekly impact plus he gets the Jaguars this week. The jags are on a 7 game losing streak and are starting Cody Kessler. Even with Leonard Fournette suspended I still suspect them to run smash mouth football with Carlos Hyde. I see a solid 25 plus run attempts for Jacksonville this game which bodes well for Leonard’s output. Look at the company Leonard finds himself with:

The Rookies

This year’s rookie Linebacker corps has been magnificent. In this top 10 I have 4 rookies in Darius Leonard, Leighton Vander Esch, and Roquan Smith. A fifth just missed out in Tremaine Edmunds. Darius Leonard should be IDP MVP as well as Defensive Rookie of the Year. Leighton Vander Esch has been a monster every time he starts. Roquan Smith has vaulted himself into a weekly top 5 option as well. Fred Warner has played great whenver foster has been out (he has been cut). These four LB’s will be mainstays in your fantasy lineup for years to come.

The Top

Jamal Adams in my eyes if the best Fantasy Safety in football. He is an impressive tackler, fierce blitzer and is an above average cover guy. He can literally play both Safety Positions or Linebacker for the Jets. Adams is a big reason why Darren Lee’s numbers aren’t better (many thought Lee was a breakout candidate). Adams is a must start regardless of matchup and gets a plus matchup against the Titans and their run heavy offense. Credit Julian Edelman for trying but Adams gave him a licking twice last week:

After those two hits on Edelman, watch him lay the smack down on Gronk:

Need I say more?

The Lone Corner

This week I have a cornerback listed in my top 10. I know most of my colleagues do not like corners but I like playing them when the matchup presents itself. Chris Harris is a great corner and plays the slot a lot. This week he goes up agaisnt the Bengals and Jeff Driskel. Driskel is a backup QB who will likely be doing a lot of under passing to the slot and RB’s where Harris should be able to be productive.

Harris has been a beast his last 2 games. In those games he had 14 tackles (10 solo), 3 passes defensed and 2 interceptions. That is better than many Safeties in that same span. Harris almost had a second pick last week as well:

Donald Can’t Be Stopped

Aaron Donald is once again making his case for Defensive Player of the Year. He had a slow start the first few games but since has been on a tear. Starting Week 4 Donald has had a sack in every game with 5 of those seven games being multiple sack games. With the record that the Rams have you have to at least consider Donald as an MVP candidate, check out the numbers:

Keeping Up With the Jones’

Chris Jones is one of the biggest surprises of this year. He has had 7 consecutive games with a sack and 4 in his last two games. Most people were expecting a healthy year from Justin Houston and Dee Ford. Chris Jones has been the best pass rusher on the Chiefs. Look at the quick shifty burst from Jones here to get to the QB:

The other Jones has been a Fantasy mainstay since he was drafted. Chandler Jones is a beast. He has anotehr year of 10 plus sacks and continues to be a disruptive force for the Cardinals.

Bosa Is Back

Joey Bosa is a generational talent. Is it too early to say he is back this year…maybe. To me no, it only takes a small taste of action for Bosa to get back into it. He played 31 snaps his first game back and had a single tackle. Then came his first full game of action and he had 5 tackles and 2 sacks. Welcome back Bosa! Watch here his second of his 2 sacks:

There is the tops of each Fantasy position for Week 13. Some new guys on the list and great matchups for some. Let’s see who has the late season breakout.
