Taking a look at the NFL Week 11 from a IDP perspective; notes on what our writer @Orangeman3142 saw this weekend.

This is a continuation of our weekly article series that breaks down what we saw this week in IDP fantasy football. What happened and why, what we got right and what we got wrong and more importantly how to move forward and get better next week. We look at possible waivers and trends, snap counts and issues that affect production for your IDP team. Part four will cover the last four games of week eleven.

Make sure you caught parts one, two and three from earlier this week and keep an eye our for my start or sit article dropping Sunday morning as well as our live stream Sunday @ 11AM Eastern Time on Youtube and Periscope where we answer start or sit questions and go over inactives before the games start, Let’s get back into it.

Broncos: It was another monster game for tier one safety Justin Simmons (S) recording 10 combined tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps this week, he’s been awesome all season and continues to be a weekly auto start. Darian Stewart (S) also had a big day with 10 combined tackles and 1 PD also on 100% of snaps this week but has been far more inconsistent over the course of the season so I’m far less interested in him.

Chris Harris Jr (CB) had an ideal matchup and took advantage putting up 8 combined tackles, 1 PD and 1 INT on 97% of snaps played, he’s a nice option in good matchups like this one against an efficient Chargers passing game. Bradley Chubb (DE, LB) is still on fire and had another great game this week with 7 combined tackles, 1 sack and 2 TFL on 77% of snaps played, he’s been unstoppable lately so it’s not likely he’s available on waivers but if so definitely go get him.

Todd Davis (LB) is having a career year and had another solid game this week with 5 combined tackles and 2 PD on 88% of snaps played this week. He’s been a rock solid tier two guy this season so get in on him if you can he’s never been this productive before in his career and may not be ever again. Josey Jewell (LB) got some playing time this week with Brandon Marshall (LB) injured and out and took advantage with 5 combined tackles and 1 PD on 53% of snaps but is still just a dynasty piece for the future.

Derek Wolfe (DE) had a stinker but is still a decent spot play and Von Miller (LB) had a solid game recording 1 solo tackle, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 PD and 1 INT on 77% of snaps played but I’ll still only play him in a specific OLB or EDGE slot.

Chargers: With the season ending injury to Denzel Perryman (LB) it would seem that Jatavis Brown (LB), who had 8 combined tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps this week, is locked into solid production and playing time for the rest of the season, play him with confidence from here on out.

Derwin James (S), Adrian Phillips (S) and Jahleel Addae (S) have also been tapped to pick up the slack in a lot of three safety sets. James has been great all year and had 7 solo tackles playing 100% of snaps and remains a weekly auto start. Phillips has really stepped it up lately after both the Kyzir White (LB, S) and Denzel Perryman (LB) injuries and had 6 combined tackles on 64% of snaps this week, he’s a decent tier two option with good upside he’s had some monster games lately just not this week.

Addae only had 3 solo tackles playing 100% of snaps but is playable in deeper leagues as an end of tier two guy. Melvin Ingram (DE) and Joey Bosa (DE) both had awful games but will both be fine especially now that they are on the field together once again and Bosa is expected to start this week so all systems are go!

Eagles: With the return of a healthy Corey Graham (S) the Eagles now have two IDP relevant safeties once again. Graham had 9 combined tackles playing 87% of snaps this week and should be back to being an end of tier two producer if you need safety help. I’d still rather have Malcolm Jenkins (S) though, he recorded 9 combined tackles as well this week but played 100% of snaps and is the more consistent and reliable of the two.

Jordan Hicks (LB) and Nigel Bradham (LB) were next on the box score, Hicks putting up 7 combined tackles on 91% of snaps while Bradham had a “down” game with 5 solo tackles on 100% of snaps this week. Bradham outsnapping Hicks this week is interesting and could line him up to be the better producer of the two for the rest of the season if the trend continues. The entire Eagles defensive line all had bad games this week with Fletcher Cox (DT) and Michael Bennett (DE) having the “best” days with 2 solo tackles apiece. Bennett, Cox and Brandon Graham (DE) all remains startable guys and should be fine you can’t win them all.

Saints: The Eagles barely ran any offensive plays at all this game so Marshon Lattimore (CB) was the top IDP producer for the Saints this week with 4 solo tackles, 2 PD and 1 INT on 75% of snaps this week. Sheldon Rankins (DT) managed to scrape out a serviceable game with 1 solo tackle, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 59% of snaps and remains a nice tier two defensive tackle option. Cameron Jordan (DE) had a bad game but will be fine, Eli Apple (CB) still remains a good option against offenses that can pass against New Orleans.

DeMario Davis (LB) continues to suck and Vonn Bell (S) and Marcus Williams (S) continue to be spotty at best, this game was a wash for New Orleans IDP production in general, better luck next week.

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears

Vikings: It was a massive day for Eric Kendricks (LB) who led all Vikings IDP production with 12 solo tackles and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps in his best game this year by far. He remains a steady and reliable end of tier two guy so this kind of game won’t be the norm. Harrison Smith (S) had the kind of game we all know he’s capable of this week recording 8 combined tackles and 2 TFL on 100% of snaps.

His numbers at the end of the year will put him close to tier one or just outside it but the truth behind those numbers is that games like this are the exception and not the rule for him, he’s too spotty for my tastes. Trae Waynes (CB) continues to prosper in the wake of the Mike Hughes (CB) season ending injury recording 5 solo tackles on 89% of snaps this week and remains a solid option in ideal matchups against efficient passing offenses.

Danielle Hunter (DE) had another nice game with 5 solo tackles and 3 TFL on 85% of snaps played and remains a tier one auto start weekly. Everson Griffen (DE), Linval Joseph (DT) and Sheldon Richardson (DT) all had down weeks but should be fine and will stay in their respective lanes with Griffen being an end of tier one defensive end while Joseph is the same but for defensive tackle and Richardson stays a nice spot start for tier two defensive tackle.

Bears: For the second week in a row Prince Amukamara (CB) led the way for the Bears IDP production this time having 8 solo tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps played, I wrote him off as a flash in the pan last week but there may be something here, I’m not sold yet though. Kyle Fuller (CB) was next with 7 combined tackles and 2 PD on 100% of snaps and is a nice play against teams like the Vikings who have an effective passing attack.

Roquan Smith (LB) continues to get better every week, this week he had 7 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and is sneaking up on tier one production with excellent reliability. Akiem Hicks (DE) has been quietly awesome this season and had another solid game with 6 solo tackles, 1 sack and 5 TFL on 79% of snaps played this week. He;s having a pro bowl season but it gets overlooked cause Khalil Mack (DE), who had 2 solo tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFL and 1 PD on 93% of snaps, is also having a lights out season, Hicks is just as important for both this team and as a relatively inexpensive piece for your IDP team if you can get him.

Danny Trevethan (LB) had a stinker with 2 solo tackles and 1 TFL on 99% of snaps but should recover, he’s been pretty consistent with a floor of around five or six combined tackles per game most of this season. Both Adrian Amos (S) and Eddie Jackson (S) had pick-six touchdowns this week to help put the dagger in the coffin of the Vikings but very little stats other than the interception each and touchdown each. Amos chipped in 3 solo tackles but Jackson had nothing except that pick-six.

One of these two usually finds a way to have a big game every week but it’s impossible to predict which one and both of these guys are dependent on big plays for the majority of their points most weeks and that’s a recipe for disaster when you’re counting on statistically improbable plays each week for your floor of points, I don’t play either of them and would rather have a guy like Bradley McDougald (S) who I know will get me four or five combined tackles every week and whatever else he get’s (sack, pick, etc) is just as likely to happen as those plays for Jackson or Amos but I’ve got that floor of tackles automatically every week.

Chiefs: With safety Eric Berry (S) still nowhere to be seen this far into the season it’s no surprise to see Ron Parker (S) and Eric Murray (S) at the top of the box score for the Chiefs this week, they’ve had all season to figure things out. Parker recorded 8 combined tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps while Murray had 5 solo tackles also on 100% of snaps this week. Both have had great games this season but to me neither has really established themselves as more reliable than the other, both are definitely playable though, I just personally don’t have a bead on them so you’ll need your own research to figure out which one and when.

Reggie Ragland (LB) had no stats of any kind this week and only played 10% of snaps so it’s probably time to abandon ship in regards to him for the rest of the season. Anthony Hitchens (LB) had only 6 combined tackles on 72% of snaps in one of the most offensively-heavy games I’ve ever seen in my life, he should’ve done far better then that, I’m starting to fade him also.

Kendall Fuller (CB) continues to be great and super consistent putting up 3 solo tackles, 1 TFL and 1 PD on 100% of snaps this week, to be honest I expected a bigger stat line out of him as well in this shootout to end all shootouts but the point is he will get you at least this stat line every week all year rain or shine. Chris Jones (DE) and Allan Bailey (DE) both had monster games this week with Jones recording 6 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 3 TFL and 1 PD on 65% of snaps while Bailey had 1 solo tackle, 1 sack, 1 TFL and 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown this week.

Jones is the guy I want he’s been a nice spot start all year and Baileys week was a flash in the pan. I’m not going to talk about Justin Houston (LB, EDGE) or Dee Ford (LB, EDGE) cause I don’t do edge rush linebackers, you all know why by this point I’ve been writing these all year and compared edge rush linebackers to soggy disgusting Brussel Sprouts on the podcast this week.

Rams: It was John Johnson (S) leading the way for the Rams this week with 11 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps played, he’s been real hot lately and is sneaking back into the tier one conversation for safety production. Cory Littleton (LB) had another solid game with 8 combined tackles on 100% of snaps this week and remains a tier one weekly auto start.

LaMarcus Joyner (S) has had some nice games this year but is spotty overall, this week was a solid one though with 7 combined tackles, 1 INT and 2 PD on 100% of snaps played. Aaron Donald (DE) had another monster game with 4 combined tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL on 93% of snaps played and is also a weekly auto start. Samson Ekuban (LB) obviously had a massive game with those two touchdowns on defense but let’s be real here I’ve never even mentioned this guys name until this week so congrats to him, I’m not interested, let’s keep it moving.

N’Damakong Suh (DT) and Michael Brockers (DE) both had off games this week but will both be fine for their respective production tiers as the season continues, Suh as a tier one defensive tackle and Brockers as a tier two defensive end or spot start. Dante Fowler (DE) had 3 tackle assists this week but had a nice game last week and is more than capable of putting up good weeks being a member of this loaded defensive line now.

Marcus Peters (CB) was set up for a monster game with the amount of passing that happened in this game but only managed one tackle and an interception which was disappointing. I still play him in good matchups though but this should’ve been one of those. Marc Barron (LB) had 6 combined tackles on 75% of snaps but doesn’t play in cold weather and has been putting up roughly half of the production every game this season compared to the last two seasons so he’s clearly fallen off plus Cory Littleton (LB) is far better and younger, he is the future here not Barron.
