Here is a look at the IDP fantasy football edge rushers ranked 21-40 from 2018 and IDP Dude’s predictions on who has the best chance to jump into the top 20 during the 2019 season

2018 Edge Rushers 21-40

Now that we have our 21-40 ranked edge rushers from 2018 let’s take a look at who I think has the best chance to make the top 20 list in 2019.

Melvin Ingram, Los Angeles Chargers

The overall production from Ingram next season will be closely tied to the health of Joey Bosa. A healthy Bosa who requires extra attention for an entire season will be the key to Ingram’s success in 2019. Ingram led the Chargers defense in run stops during the 2018 season with 19 according to Pro Football Focus and I expect to see more of the same from him in the upcoming campaign.

Jabaal Sheard, Indianapolis Colts

This one might turn some heads. Sheard has always been a force on the line but I like him even more due to the talent around him. Now opposite of Justin Houston with Margus Hunt and Denico Autry anchoring the interior, I don’t know how teams will be able to slow this line down. Sheard is someone you can usually grab in the later rounds of IDP drafts and will probably provide the most upside of all your later round dart throws.

Sam Hubbard, Cincinnati Bengals

This is the year of Sam Hubbard! Well, let’s pump the brakes a little. The rookie only played 43% of snaps in 2018 and still finished as the 25th overall DE in IDP fantasy leagues. Playing time is the only thing in his way from being a top 20 edge rusher in 2019.  With a year under his belt, we will have to watch how things shake out during OTAs and training camp for Hubbard. If he is able to secure the starting gig opposite of Carlos Dunlap, a top 20 finish isn’t out of the question.

Romeo Okwara, Detroit Lions

It appears all Okwara needed to get going was a change of scenery. After two frumpy years with the Giants, Okwara had his best season yet in 2018 with the Lions under the head coach and defensive guru Matt Patricia. Rewarded for his solid play, the Lions inked Okwara to a new two year deal while they figure out who they’ll slot in on the opposite side. The takeaway here is that the talent and opportunity is ripe for the picking. You can grab Okwara on the cheap and have a potential top 20 edge rusher on your squad without paying the top 20 edge rusher price. Added bonus: apparently he is the Terminator.
