Week 2 – IDP Start / Sit Advice

Are there too many IDP starting lineup decisions for you this week? Can not decide which linebacker or edge rusher to start? Which safety gets the nod this week?”

This will not be the typical ‘obvious starters’ type of article. Always start your studs like Maxx Crosby, Fred Warner, and Brian Branch. What needs to be shared is who we start and sit out of the not-so-obvious players. You will not see the Top 10-ranked players in these articles because we all already know to start these players. These players could be ranked #11 or #37.

Week 1 – DL/Edge Starters –

Byron Young – Los Angeles Rams

The Rams visit the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, who just came off of a horrible offensive showing. 55 plays for a grand total of 133 total yards against the league’s #1 Team Defense was the end result for the Titans. The Rams’ defense took on the Houston Texans and held them to 265 yards on 57 plays.

Week 1 – DB Sits –

Camryn Bynum – Indianapolis Colts

Don’t expect the triple-digit tackle season from Bynum this year, according to Week 1 against the Dolphins. He produced just 3 tackles (1 solo), 2 passes defended, and 1 interception. Playing centerfield does not equate to many tackles, and he won’t get an interception every week. Even the #26 ranking on FantasyPros seems too high for Week 2 against the Broncos.

Grant Delpit – Cleveland Browns

The Browns get to travel to Baltimore to take on a very upset team that will be looking to redeem themselves from the Bills game. The 3 Safeties for the Bills produced a combined 11 tackles and nothing else on the stat sheet. Delpit posted a #67-ranked scoring stat line of 4 tackles (2 solo). That is it against a Bengals squad that played passed 23 times and rushed 23 times. FantasyPros has him ranked as the #17 DB for Week 2, and that is a stretch as he will likely be double that in ranking.
