Week 13 IDP Dynasty Buys

Safety – Brandon Jones – Denver Broncos

Jones is in the first year of a three-year $20 million contract and seems to have fit in just fine. He has played 85% of the defensive snaps this season with seven of the last eight games played being 90% or more of those snaps. He has at least five tackles in 10 of his games played. Jones has eight or more tackles in four of his games. He is very consistent in his production and has scored double digits in every game this year with a high of 32.5 in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers who happen to be the #1 rated team against opposing Safeties.

Jones has an incredible schedule between now and the playoffs. He has a bye in Week 14 but is going against the #23, 25, 26, and then those same #1 Chargers whom he destroyed. Jones is not a big name to acquire but he is a big name on the scoreboard. The time is now to inquire.

DB – Brian Branch – Detroit Lions

Branch is in his second year with the Lions after being drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. He has already missed three full games and parts of others which might be able to be used in your favor. His injuries include concussion, ankle, and hamstring issues. Branch is the #9 overall defensive player in average score per game. He is the #4 scoring Safety/DB. Branch has scored single digits in two of the last four games played. Bring that up in your negotiations. When he does play, Branch will be producing with the best of them. He has 61 tackles in his 10 games played along with 3 tackles for a loss, 3 QB hits, 1 forced fumble, 13 passes defended, and 4 interceptions. If the door is cracked open to obtain him, slide your foot in and give your best offer for the Week 13 IDP Dynasty MVP.

DE/Edge – Danielle Hunter – Houston Texans

Hunter is 30 years old and signed a 2-year $49 million contract with the Texans this past off-season. IDP and fantasy teams look to start unloading players when they hit the 30-year-old mark. Hunter is a 30-year-old player that you want to get your hands on. He has played 77% of the defensive snaps and posted more than one sack in four different games this season.

He seems to be finding his groove with the Texans and their scheme now as he has five sacks in the last two games. Hunter has seven tackles in two of the last three games. Add in eight tackles for a loss over the last two games and you have the #1 scoring DE/Edge over the last three weeks combined. In your playoffs, he is going against the #21, 25, and 26 ranked teams in points allowed to opposing DE/Edge players. Yes please acquire Hunter on your Dynasty IDP rosters.

LB – Jordyn Brooks – Miami Dolphins

Brooks signed a 3-year contract worth $26 million this past off-season with the Dolphins. After a very slow start of just 19 tackles in his first three games this season, he rebounded to become the current LB13 in scoring year to date. He has 33 tackles in his last three games and is LB1 over these last three weeks. Add in 3 tackles for a loss, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass defended and you have a buy for your IDP Dynasty squad. He already has 95 tackles on the season and is on pace to get 150 by year’s end. Brooks has become very consistent in his production over the last nine games as he has at least nine tackles in six of those games.

Week 13 IDP Dynasty Holds

LB – Roquan Smith – Baltimore Ravens

You just might have teams come knocking to check Smith’s availability. He hurt his hamstring and missed the Week 12 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. You will be told that hamstrings take a while to heal, and you will need someone to play over these next few weeks. Smith is listed as questionable for this week and then Week 14 is the Raven’s bye week. There is a good chance he will not play again until Week 15. The first week of your playoffs is probably Week 15. He will be rested and ready to rock against 11th, 28th, and 24th-ranked teams in allowed points to opposing LBs. Smith will more than likely deliver more than his 10 tackle per game average. He has 12 and 13 tackles in his last two games played. Smith is not a sell under any circumstances.

LB – Frankie Luvu – Washington Commanders

Luvu signed a 3-year $36 million contract this past off-season after two very productive years in Carolina with 111 and 125 tackles. After posting just 43 tackles in his first 7 games, Luvu earned 100% of the snaps over the last 5 games and posted 36 tackles in those 5 games. He has scored double-digit points in all 5 games and has 26.5 and 29 points in the last 2 games. Luvu has earned his spot and will have that spot for at least two more years after 2024 is completed. He has already set career highs in sacks and passes defended, and will have a new career high in QB hits in the next game or two. Luvu will not get the value needed to move him, so he stays on your roster.

DE/Edge – Harold Landry – Tennessee Titans

Landry signed a massive 5 year $87.5 million contract with the Titans back in 2022. He is on pace this year to set new career highs in tackles, tackles for a loss, and passes defended. Landry also has 11 QB hits and 6 sacks to his credit this season. He has played 82% of the defensive snaps on the season and has scored double-digit points in all games this season except one in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. A lot of players have had bad results against the Lions.

He is averaging over 17 points per game over the last four games. Landry seems to raise his play when playing tougher offenses. He has averaged 18 points per game against the four top 9 offenses he has played to date. His last four games of the season are against Top 8 offenses in scores allowed to opposing DE/Edge players. The recipe sounds like a big win and a hold for Landry on your roster.

DT – DeForest Buckner – Indianapolis Colts

If there were any doubts on how Buckner would respond to his high ankle sprain suffered in Week 2, you can set them aside. He missed five games and is still the #15 scoring DT on the season. Buckner is the #3 scoring DT over the past five games since he came back from the Injured Reserve list. Combined over these 5 games, this DT produced 30 tackles (13 solo), 4 tackles for a loss, 8 QB hits, and 3 sacks. After his first week back where they eased him back in, Buckner played 75-80% of the defensive snaps. The 30-year-old needs to stay on your roster as he will produce for your squad until further notice.

Week 13 IDP Dynasty Sells

DT – Leonard Williams – Seattle Seahawks

Williams just had his best scoring game since Week 17 of 2020. This 30-year-old scored 34.5 points last week by posting 6 tackles (3 solo), 3 tackles for a loss, 4 QB hits, 2.5 sacks, and 1 pass defended. His next closest scoring week was Week 9 with 17 points scored. He has four games of single-digit scoring. Use this most recent performance and sell him as the next 30-year-old Buckner. Buckner has not scored 30+ points in a game this year yet. Williams gets roughly 65-75% of the defensive snaps and would look so nice on someone else’s roster.

LB – Robert Spillane – Las Vegas Raiders

The 29-year-old Spillane started off the year with five straight 21+ point weeks. He has only had one of those games since. In fact, three of his last five games have him scoring just 13.25 points or less. You need more than that from your LB1. He is the #6 scoring LB year to date because of his fast start. Spillane is averaging 20.5 points per game, but he hasn’t hit that score in over a month. He has just two games of double-digit tackles in his last six games played. In those 6 games, he has a combined 2 tackles for a loss, 1 QB hit, and 1 pass defended. The splash plays are missing to make up for the lack of tackles. Sell him while using his overall LB6 ranking.

LB – Kenneth Murray – Tennessee Titans

If ever there was a golden time to sell Murray, it is now. He is playing nearly all the defensive snaps with the Titans and just posted his best two games back-to-back in his most recent games. His career high in tackles is 107 which he has done twice when playing with the Los Angeles Chargers. Murray has two years to show the Titans he can play, and these last two games were monsters. His 2 highest scores of the year were posted in these past 2 games by posting a combined 17 tackles (11 solo), 3 tackles for a loss, 2 QB hits, 1 sack, 2 passes defended, and 1 interception. Use these two games to get a nice return and sell him today.

Safety – Josh Metellus – Minnesota Vikings

Metellus was the #7 overall scoring Safety in 2023 averaging 19.5 points per game. This year he is the #30 scoring Safety on the year having broken 19.5 points just twice thus far in 2024. He has a great reputation from last year and could get a nice player in return. Metellus is just 26 years old and has played almost 90% of the defensive snaps year to date. He has double-digit points in all but one game this season but has broken 14 points just four times on the season. It is time for him to move to another roster.
