Week 10 IDP Start or Sit

It’s Week 10 IDP Start or Sit time! The weather has turned, so let’s turn the fortune of your IDP squads (or maintain, if you are kicking butt)! Let’s dive into some of the top IDP Starts/Sits of this week.

Somehow we have already hit double-digit weeks! Playoff squads are now starting to take shape and we need to ensure we can handle bye weeks and injuries that pop up. With Cleveland, Green Bay, Las Vegas, and Seattle on bye we are missing a lot of IDP starters. Matchups are starting to become hairy as players are injured and lineups adjusted, but we will try our best to analyze and take advantage of them!

Disclaimers! In this series, we will not name the stars like Myles Garrett and Roquan Smith (unless something causes one to be a sit). I will also do my best to avoid an absurdly deep-cut former prospect that I love (if you follow the RoD PoD, you know I can tend to do this!) In this series I will be basing picks off of a balanced scoring system (like the IDP+ Invitational, which also boosts DTs and CBs to even their production out), to cover as many bases as possible! Please also note that mentions of previous finishes/points allowed come from the IDP+ data suite. If you have a more complex league scoring system, these suggestions may serve as a baseline. For a more degenerate breakdown, jump into the Discord and chat with our stellar team! Now that the intro is done, let’s introduce the week 10 start-sit options!

Start: DT Grady Jarrett, Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints

The superstar rebound did not exactly work out last week… but if at first you don’t succeed, try again! Jarrett recorded his first sack since Week 1 in his last matchup and has another great one up now. No team has given up more points (per game) to DTs over the past 3 weeks than the Saints. Jarrett will be a sack-dependent play, with only 30 tackles in 9 games (never more than 5), giving some risk. However, the sack upside that NoLa allows makes Jarrett worth the risk as long as he is active.

Last week: Nnamdi Madubuike, Baltimore Ravens vs Denver Broncos. Finished with 3.25 points (IDPI scoring).

Sit: DT Calijah Kancey, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs San Francisco 49ers

Despite a great MNF performance this week, Kancey finds himself as a bench. 2 sacks are a great ceiling, but a poor matchup and tackle floor combine to make him a tough high-level play. The 49ers have been the worst (PPG) matchup over the past 3 weeks. Kancey has sack upside, but 10 tackles in 4 games is a scary baseline should the sacks not repeat against a favored opponent. Kancey is still startable in multi-DT leagues, but we should not expect another top-8 finish.

Last week: Tershawn Wharton, Kansas City Chiefs vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (MNF). Finished with 4.25 points. 1 solo and assisted tackle.
