Savvy IDP owners already know Akeem Davis-Gaither. He filled in admirably for Cincinnati in recent years whenever Logan Wilson or Germaine Pratt missed time, otherwise reserved to a backup role.
But a two-year, $10 million deal suggests Davis-Gaither will start in a system that saw Kyzir White post solid fantasy numbers despite struggling in his performance. Head coach Jonathan Gannon prioritizes one linebacker in his scheme. Incumbent Mack Wilson didn’t do much when asked in 2024, and there’s no reason to think Davis-Gaither won’t be tasked with a bigger role in 2025.
His value should steadily rise as fantasy managers become more savvy to Davis-Gaither’s opportunity. There’s always the risk of being replaced in the NFL Draft, but rookie linebackers often transition slowly regardless.
