Did you win your fantasy football championship? Consider donating to the charities of the players who helped you get there!
It’s a dangerous thing, telling people how to spend their money. But here goes nothing.
One of the best things the fantasy football community does each year is to take a portion and donate fantasy football winnings to the people who got them there and the charities they represent. Here are some of 2023’s fantasy league-winners for IDP, and the charities associated with each.
Remember; you can donate to ANY player’s charity by searching their name and the word, “charity.” Here are some IDP stars that we’ve already done that work for you!
The Year-Long Stars
DL: Danielle Hunter
Hunter has donated to the Boys & Girls Club of America, which helps young kids feel empowered to find career success.
Hunter had career-highs in tackles (77) and sacks (15.5) with Minnesota this year.

LB: Foyesade Oluokun
Oluokun supports the Lift for Life Academy, supporting kids who need help achieving academic goals.
Oluokun is on track to lead the league in combined tackles for the third year in a row, the first to do so since Jessie Tuggle from 1990-1992. He has seven LB1 finishes this year, with just four games outside of the top-24.

DB: Antoine Winfield Jr.
Winfield supports the Hillsborough Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps support and protect at-risk students.
The Buccaneers’ safety has done it all this year, with 73 solo tackles, five sacks, five forced fumbles, 12 PDs, five TFLs and three interceptions.

The Champions of Week 17
DL: Aidan Hutchinson
Hutchinson supports the ChadTough Foundation, which supports research for DIPG, a potentially life-threatening tumor in children.
Hutchinson’s three sacks and four TFLs with a forced fumble against Dallas was impossible to miss. An up-and-down statistical ear for the Lions edge rusher ended on a high note.

LB: Terrel Bernard
I cannot find a Buffalo-related charity. However, Bernard has supported The Pack of Hope Foundation in Waco, Texas, during his time at Baylor. It donates food and clothes to the needy.
Bernard had a career-high 136 combined tackles and 6.5 sacks in 2023. Bernard could honestly be in all three of these sub-sections.

DB: Derwin James
James supports the Chargers Impact Fund, which helps fund under-represented communities in Los Angeles.
James continued his great career in 2023, sealing his fantasy season off with 12 tackles (7 solo), two PDs, a sack and a TFL against the Broncos. James now has his fourth 100-tackle season.

The Waiver Wire Gems
DL: Justin Madubuike
Madubuike supports the Pathfinders for Autism organization, which seeks to improve the livelihoods of those with autism.
Savvy readers of this newsletter may have drafted Madubuike when we highlighted him this summer. But for the rest, the Ravens DT has been sensational with a career-high 13 sacks after recording 8.5 combined in the three years prior.

LB: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Owusu-Koramoah has his own J-OK Fund with the Sagamore Institute, which helps support community development in the U.S. and Africa.
Many gave up on J-OK, especially after a disappointing Week 1. But those who picked him up enjoyed a strong LB1 who racked up a remarkable 20 TFLs from Week 2 onward.

DB: Camryn Bynum, Reed Blankenship
It feels wrong to not include either, so let’s just do both.
Bynum has his own Bynum Faith Foundation, which provides support for communities in the U.S. and Philippines through holistic means, offering food and services to those in need.
Blankenship supports the Ronald McDonald House, which has long supported families with sick children around the world.
Bynum enjoyed a breakout season under defensive coordinator Brian Flores, recording 130 tackles (90 solo)with two INTs and nine PDs. Blankenship seized a starting role in Philadelphia, with 74 solo tackles, 10 PDs and two TFLs across 14 games.
