Q: For the first time in NFL history, we are witnessing a versatile player in Travis Hunter. In today’s world of fantasy football, do you think he will be the reason why IDP leagues will grow in the near future?
Up until 2024, only 1 in 8 (12%) of fantasy football leagues include IDP players. I do believe that dual-threat players like Travis Hunter will help put IDP on the map. However, I also believe it will take more in the box-score from Hunter to really make a true difference in the community. Quite frankly, managers who were licking their chops to draft the WR/DB have been left with a bad taste in their mouths. Through week 3, Hunter has taken 118 combined snaps at WR and produced 10 catches for 76 yards on just 16 targets. If those stats aren’t lackluster enough, Hunter has taken 92 snaps on defense and has only translated that to 9 combined tackles and 1 pass defensed.
IDP managers would have been better off taking other Jaguars defensive backs like Andrew Wingard, Eric Murray, Tyson Campbell. Even Jourdan Lewis was solid through the first 3 weeks of the season. While IDP managers surely didn’t draft Hunter for the tackle prowess (I projected Hunter for just north of 30 tackles in 2025.), he and the Jaguars’ offense as a whole have left much to be desired in the stat sheet. While barely startable (even in IDP leagues) right now, I project Hunter as a nice buy-low target – especially in those DB-startable leagues.
Somebody else paid the 3rd/4th round price, so now is your chance to potentially reap the benefits and buy low. Things should get better as the season goes on for Hunter (especially on offense), but I feel as though many managers are willing to wash their hands of the uber-talented rookie. You can make a case to say that Travis Hunter’s performance thus far has turned off FF managers from IDP more than it’s encouraged. However, I think the jury’s still out. NFL/IDP fans looking for the Shohei Ohtani of the gridiron may have to push the pause button here in 2025.

Q: After the first month with Micah Parsons, this team feels ready to go to the Super Bowl despite injuries on offense. How much has this trade helped the defense, and who else in Green Bay should IDP League managers be on the lookout for?
A: The defense was always going to be good. Parsons has taken it to another level. His attention-demanding has given Rashan Gary, Devonte Wyatt, and Lukas Van Ness 1-on-1s in pass rush and allowed Edgerrin Cooper and Quay Walker to run to the ball unmolested by offensive linemen.

Q: Rookie CB Will Johnson had a massive hit in week one on Chris Olave. Week two started with a scoop and score by Zaven Collins after Josh Sweat forced the fumble. Do you see a light at the end of the tunnel for this decimated Cardinals’ defense?
