It’s Week 10 and the playoff push is officially here! IDP leagues and roster sizes vary significantly throughout the fantasy landscape. @DynastySanta brings you Week 10 IDP sleepers rostered and/or started in 25% or less of ESPN or Yahoo IDP leagues.
So I know you’re normally used to spot-on, top-notch advice here from the homie @JoeyTheToothIDP. Well, life happens sometimes and I’m here to fill in, deal with it! Joey’s IDP sleeper suggestions are usually pretty deep. Since I’m in a bunch of IDP leagues with him that have huge rosters, I get it. However, for my Week 10 IDP sleepers, you will be getting probably some more household names for you degenerate & hardcore IDPers. Sorry not sorry!
Week 10 IDP Sleepers
Defensive Line
Jonathan Allen, DT/IDL, Washington Football Team
ESPN: 6.6% ST – 11.2% RST – YAHOO: 16.0% RST
The Redski Football Team takes on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. Brady has been sacked 12 times in eight games so far this year. So despite having an above-average offensive line, he’s not immune to being taken down. In four of those games, opposing teams got to Brady at least twice. This game has the potential to be a shoot-out, so lots of dropbacks are possible from Brady.
Since Jonathan Allen generally plays on the interior D-line, he’s not as sexy as his EDGE counterparts Chase Young and Montez Sweat. However, Allen quietly has six sacks on the season so far. That is in conjunction with a solid tackle floor – 29 on the season, averaging 3.6 per game. With Sweat likely out for at least this game, Allen has a higher-than-usual ceiling and should easily sack Brady with Chase Young likely receiving a ton of O-line attention.
Linebacker
Anthony Walker, Cleveland Browns
ESPN: 23.2% ST – 25.6% RST – YAHOO: 17.0% RST
Anthony Walker missed weeks 2-4 on IR due to a hamstring injury. In more casual/shallow leagues, this probably left him to waiver wire fodder. And per the rostered/started stats, he may still be available. Since his return, he’s been playing really well with both solid tackle floors, and some big impact plays to sweeten the deal.
In Week 10, the Browns take on the New England Patriots. This could be a matchup for Walker to EAT. The Patriots run a ton so that alone provides a really safe tackle floor. And that is with the Patriots’ top two RBs who actually specialize in running the ball being questionable. Both are in the concussion protocol. Add rookie QB, Mac Jones, on top, and one or two bad decisions or mistakes could lead to a 15+ point fantasy day.
Kyzir White, Los Angeles Chargers
ESPN: 8.1% ST – 10.1% RST – YAHOO: 8.0% RST
Kyzir White is a well-known name within the IDP community. However, he might not be so well-known to more casual players. White seems to finally be getting his shot and separating himself from the crowded pack in the Chargers’ LB room.
He’s basically a safe, tackle floor play this week against the Minnesota Vikings. There should be a steady dose of Dalvin Cook making his way to the second level for White to have the opportunity to wrap him up. But White has been flying all around the field lately, so an INT, FF, FR, or even some TFLs are not out of the question.
Defensive Back
AJ Terrell, CB, Atlanta Falcons
ESPN: 8.1% ST – 10.2% RST – YAHOO: 3.0% RST
The closest shut-down cornerback that we’ve had to Revis Island in the NFL lately is AJ Terrell. Normally, that is very, very bad for fantasy IDP scoring. However, this week Terrell faces off against the high-powered (hopefully – WTF happened last week??) Dallas Cowboys offense.
This allows for both a decent tackle floor and big-play potential. We’ve seen Dak Prescott throw 5 INTs in 7 games played. And he’s throwing a TON, leaving the door open for passes defended as well (hopefully your league scores those).
Amani Hooker, S, Tennesee Titans
ESPN: 2.2% ST – 3.0% RST – YAHOO: 7.0% RST
One of my favorite IDP players and dynasty stashes right now is Amani Hooker. Despite battling injuries and only starting four games so far this season, Hooker seems to be healthy. He even played 100% of the snaps last week. This bodes well for his Week 10 outlook against New Orleans Saints. This game could get sloppy with both teams banged up on offense. Lots of big-play potential to be had!
