Taking a look at the NFL Week 10 from a IDP perspective; notes on what our writer @Orangeman3142 saw this weekend.

This is a continuation of our weekly article series that breaks down what we saw this week in IDP fantasy football. What happened and why, what we got right and what we got wrong and more importantly how to move forward and get better next week. We look at possible waivers and trends, snap counts and issues that affect production for your IDP team. Part four will cover the last four games of week Ten.

Make sure you caught parts one, two and three from earlier in the week and catch my IDP start or sit article dropping Sunday morning. Let’s get into it.

Dolphins: For the third time in a month Raekwon McMillan (LB) led the Dolphins in IDP production with 8 combined tackles and 0.5 TFL on 79% of snaps this week. While that snap percentage still isn’t the best he’s been a hell of a lot more productive recently than he was at the start of the season. I’m getting pretty close feeling confident in starting him in a deeper league, in my all IDP league or a super deep league with three or four linebackers I would feel pretty good about adding him and giving him a go.

TJ McDonald (S) was next with 7 solo tackles on 100% of snaps and has proved to be the only reliable safety on the Dolphins with the drama regarding Reshad Jones (S), who had 3 solo tackles and 1 PD on only 79% of snaps this week in another down week for him. With Jones not playing his full snap load and not producing anywhere close to where he was at this point last season plus pulling stunts like taking himself out of games he’s proved unreliable this year and the young stud Minkah Fitzpatrick (S) hasn’t been able to take over his position yet.

Fitzpatrick had a quiet week as well with 2 combined tackles and 1 PD on 96% of snaps this week, if this Jones thing shakes out how I think it will he’ll end up as a starting safety sooner rather than later so if you have room on your bench he’s definitely worth an add to wait and see if that happens.

Kiko Alonso (LB) had a decent game with 6 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and remains a weekly auto start mid tier one guy. Jerome Baker (LB) did nothing, recording 1 solo tackle on only 65% of snaps and has been made unstartable after his few weeks of nice production. Cameron Wake (DE) and Robert Quinn (DE) both had great games but are far too spotty to be anything other than a spot start and Davon Godchaux (DT) only had 2 tackle assists and 0.5 TFL on 56% of snaps this week and remains a dynasty futures prospect.

Packers: Water is wet and Blake Martinez (LB) leads the Packers in IDP production. He had 8 solo tackles playing 100% of snaps and remains a tier one weekly auto start. Kenny Clark (DT) had a nice game as well with 6 combined tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 82% of snaps and has been a decent tier two defensive tackle option most of this season.

Josh Jones (S) seems to be the guy they’ve chosen to fill the void at safety left by the departure of Ha Ha Clinton Dix (S) to the Redskins. Jones had 5 solo tackles on 90% of snaps played and may end up being a decent option at safety if you need help in that department.

Jaire Alexander (CB) had another nice game with 5 solo tackles and 2 PD playing 87% of snaps and has proved himself to be a nice option at corner in decent mathchups. Mike Daniels (DT) and Clay Matthews (LB, EDGE) both had stinkers but Daniels remains a decent end of tier two defensive tackle option and Matthews should only be played in OLB or EDGE specific slots anyways.

Kentrell  Brice (S) still is bad and had 2 combined tackles on only 19% of snaps. Raven Greene (S) took a bunch of Brice’s snaps and didn’t do much with them, 1 solo tackle, 1 sack, 1 TFL and 1 PD on 44% of snaps this week. Of the three safeties that played this week Jones is the only one that even intrigues me slightly.

Seattle Seahawks @ LA Rams

Hawks: It definitely feels like Bobby Wagner (LB) is heating up, he led the Seahawks in IDP production again this week with 13 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and is starting to look like the old Bobby Wagner again, let’s hope he can keep it up, he’s a weekly auto start regardless of what I say, you’d have to be nuts to ever sit the guy.

Bradley McDougald (S) has been the other outstanding producer on the Hawks this season and had another nice game with 5 solo tackles and 1 TFL on only 68% of snaps this week. He was questionable this week so I’m hoping that snap percentage has more to do with injury and less to do with his ability, regardless I will monitor the situation and update through this article.

Tedric Thompson (S) has emerged as another reliable IDP option for Seattle this season after replacing Earl Thomas (S). He had a serviceable week with 5 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and has been at this floor or above the majority of games this year.

Shaq Griffin (CB) has been a nice play in ideal matchups like this one and had 4 solo tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps, he’s not reliable enough to be a weekly start at corner but not many are to be honest, consider him if the matchup is correct like it was this week against a high powered offense that can throw the ball effectively. KJ Wright (LB), Frank Clark (DE) and Jarran Reed (DT) all had down weeks but have been consistent this season so I’m not worried it happens to everyone, they’ll be fine.

Rams: Of the many defensive stars on the Rams it’s tossup who will be the best producer each week, usually though Cory Littleton (LB) is up there as he was again this week with 8 combined tackles, 1 TFL and 1 PD on 100% of snaps, he remains the second best IDP linebacker in the league and a weekly auto start.

N’Damakong Suh (DT) was the overall production leader for the Rams this week with 9 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks and 0.5 TFL on 88% of snaps and remains a solid tier two producer and pretty much an auto start cause of weeks like this. Lamarcus Joyner (S) had a nice game with 7 combined tackles on 100% of snaps but has been too spotty for my liking.

Marc Barron (LB) had a nice game, it must not have been cold out, he recorded 6 combined tackles on 76% of snaps this week but remains too much of a question mark in regards to playing time and production for me to be interested in anything other than a spot start. John Johnson (S) had a decent game with 6 combined tackles on 100% of snaps played and has been a solid start of tier two safety all season.

Aaron Donald (DE) continues his monster year with 4 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks and 3.5 TFL on 81% of snaps. He’s a weekly auto start end of story. Micheal Brockers (DE) and Dante Fowler (DE) both had serviceable games with Brockers recording 3 solo tackles on 63% of snaps while Fowler had 4 combined tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 72% of snaps this week. Both are solid spot starts or playable weekly in deeper leagues.

Cowboys: As soon as the inevitable Sean Lee (LB) injury happened a couple weeks back we all knew it was time for jokes about German shizor videos and Cartmans mom as well as an outstanding young linebacker getting the playing time he needs in the position that is most beneficial for him.

Leighton Vander Esch Mein Shizor (LB) had a ridiculous week with 13 solo tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PD and 1 INT on 100% of snaps and remains an awesome tier one producer while Lee is injured and out which should be at least a few more weeks, start him with confidence. Jeff Heath (S) was the surprising next best producer this week with 8 solo tackles on 100% of snaps but has been spotty all year so I’m all set thanks. DeMarcus Lawrence (DE) was next with 5 solo tackles and 1 TFL on 90% of snaps and has been awesome all season, he’s a weekly auto start no debate.

Jaylon Smith (LB) had a bit of a down game with 4 combined tackles, 0.5 TFL and 1 PD on 100% of snaps. He remains a tier one producer this was just a bad week, he’ll be fine. Tyrone Crawford (DE) had a solid game with 3 solo tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 77% of snaps but is nothing more than a serious roll of the dice spot start.

Chidobe Awuzie (CB) and Byron Jones (CB, S) both had awful games but Philly in general didn’t complete a ton of passes this week, both should still be playable in games with better matchups against pass happy offenses. Randy Gregory (DE) had a serviceable game if you needed a spot start with 1 solo tackle, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 65% of snaps this week, a spot start is about all he’s good for though.

Eagles: I’ve been saying it for weeks now but Nigel Bradham (LB) keeps getting better and better and his snap percentage has spiked over the past month or so sending him to 100% of snaps for a few games in a row now. This week he had 10 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and he’s now solidly placed himself in the reliable tier two category of production.

Malcolm Jenkins (S) had himself a nice game as well with 7 combined tackles on 100% of snaps this week and remains a nice tier two option with a rock solid floor. Jordan Hicks (LB) also showed up this week with 7 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and has quietly been an end of tier one producer all season. Ronald Darby (CB) had a nice game but tore his ACL so no use talking him up further, get well soon we’re going to miss him he’s a great IDP corner.

The Eagles defensive line feasted in this game. Brandon Graham (DE) led the way with 5 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1.5 TFL on 80% of snaps. Fletcher Cox (DT) had the worst game of the group with 3 combined tackles on 81% of snaps but will be fine. Micheal Bennet (DE) recorded 2 solo tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL on 72% of snaps while Chris Long (DE) had a serviceable game with 3 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks and 0.5 TFL on 67% of snaps this week. Of this group Cox is an auto start, Graham is a solid tier two option and Bennett has quietly been really good lately and is moving into the reliable tier two range.

New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers

Giants: There are very few guys I’m interested in on the Giants for IDP purposes, the majority of these guys are inconsistent and unreliable. Landon Collins (S) is the opposite of both of those traits. This week he had 9 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and is one of the best IDP safeties in the NFL hands down.

Alec Ogletree (LB) is the other guy I care about, this week he had 7 combined tackles playing 100% of snaps and remains a solid tier two producer for me. Olivier Vernon (DE) started his season hot but has been horrible since then and was never really anything more than a spotty short term guy anyways so we can forget about him. No one else on this defense is worth my time or yours.

49ers: With both Jaquiski Tartt (S) and Ruben Foster (LB) injured and out this week a good portion of the 49ers IDP production was missing in action. Malcolm Smith (LB) led the way with 6 combined tackles, 1 TFL and 1 PD on 100% of snaps but will fade to irrelevance once Foster gets back so we can ignore this.

DeForest Buckner (DT) had a nice game with 5 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks, 0.5 TFL and 1 PD on 81% of snaps and remains a tier one auto start at defensive tackle. Fred Warner (LB) was set up for a massive game but only managed 4 combined tackles and 2 PD on 100% of snaps, our podcast this week got into why he actually does better with Foster on the field with him which seems counter intuitive but is accurate. Solomon Thomas (DE) played 51% of snaps this week but had no stats of any kind and remains a spotty short term defensive end if you play him at all.
