The Seattle Seahawks Are Hoping Their Few Off-Season Additions Will Fill A Few Big Holes Left By A Couple Of Key Players. Which players should you buy-low on this off-season?

My series covering every NFL team continues with this article taking a look at the Seattle Seahawks. I will be identifying buy-low players that I would consider adding ahead of the 2019 season. Also included will be my recommendations on what it might take to acquire these players.

Ezekiel Ansah, Defensive End:

Ezekiel Ansah, 29, signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday. His final season in Detroit, was cut short by a shoulder injury that saw him only play in seven games and start two of them. He ended last season with seven solo tackles, three tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, and four sacks. The Seahawks are hoping he’s healthy enough to fill the void left by the Frank Clark trade, to Kansas City. There is speculation he could miss the first month of the season, but if he can get healthy, I believe he can be a difference maker for that Seahawks’ defense. His uncertainty for the beginning of the 2019 season makes him an even better buy-low target.

Fantasy Recommendation:

He might be owned and shouldn’t cost you more than a late round pick, due to his injury history and the possibility that he might miss the first month of the season. When healthy, I project him with defensive end three production.

Honorable Mention: Quinton Jefferson, Defensive End/Tackle.

K.J. Wright, Linebacker:

K.J. Wright, 29, is coming off an injury plagued, 2018 season and will be looking to get back to form this season. The Seattle Seahawks are confident in K.J. as well, signing him to a two-year contract this off-season. He ended last season with 15 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, and three pass deflections, in only five games played. Over the last decade, Wright has been one of the better linebackers in the NFL. I believe that he will be a force on defense and someone I love as a buy-low target.

Fantasy Recommendation:

He should be owned, and someone I’d be happy giving up an early round pick for. I see Wright with linebacker three/four production.

Honorable Mention: Barkevious Mingo, Linebacker.

Tedric Thompson, Safety:

Tedric Thompson, 24, did a nice job filling in for the injured and now departed Earl Thomas. He ended last season with 41 solo tackles, and three pass deflections. He did this over 14 games played, starting 10 of those. Thompson should be the full-time starter going into this season, which only increases his production potential in IDP leagues. He is someone that I am targeting as a nice buy-low candidate.

Fantasy Recommendation:

He should be owned, given what he did last season, but he’s someone that I’d give up a mid round pick for. I see Thompson with safety three production.

Honorable Mention: Shaq Griffin, Cornerback.

Conclusion

The Seahawks lost two key players from last years defense, Earl Thomas and the trade of Frank Clark. I think this team has the players  to continue the level of productivity of this defense. I like this unit and am looking to add anyone that I can. Ranking these buy-low players in order of priority, it would be, K.J. Wright, Tedric Thompson, Ezekiel Ansah Hopefully, you find these recommendations helpful in your quest to build that championship roster for 2019. Please keep an eye out for the San Francisco 49ers.

Please note that when I say linebacker three or safety three potential, that is basing it off of a 10 team dynasty league.
