Fantasy Football IDP Guys MFL Top Add Linebackers

My Fantasy League Linebackers Who Should Be Added And Who Should Be Dropped Going Into 2019.

Each month I’m going to review the top adds/drops, from each defensive position, on MFL’s site. Also included will be my recommendations on if these players should be added or dropped to your roster. This article will be covering the MFL top adds then I will cover the top drops on linebackers, in my next article.

Add Quincy Williams:

With star linebacker, Telvin Smith, stepping away from football and very little in front of Williams on the depth chart, he has a great chance to be a week 1 starter. MFL has Williams 2019 projection at 21 tackles, 6 assists, and 1 sack. Quincy currently sits at a three point one seven percent add rate. I do expect this to continue to rise, especially if he has a strong training camp.

Add Patrick Onwuasor:

He’s currently the favorite to start at weak side linebacker, for the Raven defense, in 2019. MFL has Onwuasor 2019 projection at 50 tackles, 19 assists, 3 forced fumbles, 1 interception, and 6 sacks. Patrick currently sits at a three point one two percent add rate. Similar to Quincy Williams, I do expect his add percentage to continue to rise.

Add Josh Harvey-Clemons (Watch List For Now):

The loss of Reuben Foster was the major reason for Harvey-Clemons hype train picking up. However, with the addition of Jon Bostic and the re-signing of Mason Foster, that has put a damper on his 2019 outlook. MFL has Harvey-Clemons 2019 projection at 16 tackles, 6 assists, and 1 sack. Josh currently sits a a two point six six percent add rate. Unless something happens in training camp, I expect his add percentage to plateau.

Add Ben Burr-Kirven (Taxi Squad):

He does have KJ Wright (knee) and Mychal Kendricks (legal issue) ahead of him on the depth chart. However, given those two players uncertainty to play a full season, Ben makes a solid taxi squad add. MFL doesn’t have a 2019 projection for Burr-Kirven yet. He currently sits at a two point three zero add rate and should increase slightly.

Add Cody Barton (Taxi Squad):

He has one of the most productive and durable linebackers in the NFL and IDP leagues ahead of him, in Bobby Wagner. Cody does make for a solid taxi squad add. MFL doesn’t have a 2019 projection for Barton yet. He currently sits at a two point two nine add rate and should increase more, than fellow teammate Ben Burr-Kirven.

Add Shaun Dion Hamilton:

He’s in a similar situation as fellow teammate Josh Harvey-Clemens. The thing Hamilton has working in his favor, is Mason Fosters injury history could allow for him to play some during the season. MFL has Shaun’s 2019 projection at 20 tackles, 11 assists, and 1 sack. He currently sits at a two and a quarter add rate and should increase more than his teammates.

Add Bobby Okereke:

His hype train is full steam ahead, as Okereke has a great chance to push Anthony Walker for the starting middle linebacker job. MFL has Bobby’s 2019 projection at 3 tackles and 2 assists. He currently sits at a two and a quarter add rate and should increase drastically, if he can have a strong training camp.

Add Chris Board:

With the loss of C.J. Mosely the Ravens need to find someone to fill that spot and while most people expect it to go to Kenny Young, nothing is set in stone yet. MFL has Boards 2019 projection at 16 tackles, 12 assists, and 3 sacks. He currently sits at a two point one three add rate and it should increase with that starting spot up for grabs.

Add Ahmad Thomas:

Due to the overall play of the Colts linebackers, last season, I see why he’s being added. However, Thomas is behind teammate Okereke on the depth chart. MFL has Ahmad’s 2019 projection at 62 tackles, 38 assists, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 sack. He currently sits at a two point zero two add rate and I expect this to increase slightly until we get clarity on everyone’s 2019 roles.

Conclusion

I agree with all of these players that have been added, this off season. I think only three of the nine are ones that I would add to my active roster (Onwuasor, Williams, and Board). The rest I would add to my taxi squad or my watch list, if you have that option. Ranking the add order of the players mentioned would be Patrick OnWuasor, Bobby Okereke, Quincy Williams, Chris Board, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Cody Barton, Ben Burr-Kirven, Ahmad Thomas, and Josh Harvey-Clemons. Please keep an eye out for the top drops for linebackers.
