We are at that time of year to evaluate your dynasty football roster and make decisions about players who never see a starting lineup. It’s time to let them go.
Fantasy managers hate to see the Super Bowl end because it marks the end of another amazing NFL season. However, for dynasty owners, the conclusion of the Super Bowl marks the beginning of the offseason to establish your priorities for the upcoming rookie draft, make trades to improve your team for the short term and long term, evaluate your roster, and decide which players are just clogging up the bottom of your roster.
In this article, I will provide insight into the IDP Players who are clogging up the bottom of your roster and deserve to be cut or traded. Whether it is a veteran you had hoped would return to relevance or a young player who just needed an opportunity, let’s dive deeper to identify the players who should be cut as they clog up their rosters as we look at the 2024 IDP Roster Cloggers.

Chase Young, DE, San Francisco 49ers
When you have the draft capital associated with Chase Young by the Washington Commanders, it was natural to think that he was destined to be a fantasy stalwart similar to Aaron Donald. Instead, all fantasy managers got was a player that couldn’t stay healthy.
Young’s rookie season may have been the best we saw from him. After posting 146.5 points in his rookie season, many managers hoped for the progression that would have seen him ascend to the top-tier defensive linemen. Instead, Year 2 saw him only play nine games while amassing 50 fantasy points.
In Year 3, it got even worse, and Young logged on to three games of action. This past season, managers finally saw him move on from the woeful Commanders and land on the 49ers. In 16 total games in 2023, Young notched only 93.5 points. While many may still believe he is worth a roster spot in the hopes he can prove why he was the 2nd overall pick, I am not enamored by the “potential for greatness” and advise you to drop Young from your IDP rosters.
According to DynastyTradeCalculator.com, Young could net you a player like Lukas Van Ness (GB), Josh Sweat (PHI), or a 2nd round pick in your upcoming rookie draft. I would be ecstatic for either of those two scenarios to be in play. Each move improves your team while freeing your roster of Young.
Cameron Jordan, DE, New Orleans Saints
Sometimes, you must know when to appreciate a player’s solid contributions to your team and when to say goodbye. It is that time for Cameron Jordan. For the past 11 years, Jordan has posted triple digits in fantasy points, with a high of 232 points and a low of 128.
In 2023, Cam Jordan only posted 65.5 fantasy points, as he saw his sack numbers drop to 2 sacks (only his rookie season saw him sack the quarterback less). At 34 years old, he is a situational player at best. And while his averages over the last few years would show his consistency, it is time to move on from this roster clogger and find younger talent.
DynastyTradeCalculator.com suggests trading away Jordan for Jordan Davis (PHI). I love the upside Davis brings to the table. And with the change on the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles, Vic Fangio could be the one to unlock Jordan Davisβ potential and increase his fantasy value.
