T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas

Let’s lead off with one of the biggest players coming to Indy. T’Vondre Sweat was a fearsome DT at Texas, but the biggest question for him is what is his weight. Look, if he played in college at his listed 362 pounds, that’s fine. Is that where he’s going to play when he gets to the NFL is an open question that will be something to watch.

Can he play at 362 pounds? Yes of course. However, if he’s at that weight, will he fall in the draft? Potentially. He chose to not weigh in at the Senior Bowl in Mobile a few weeks ago. If he’s up in that range still, will he play more than 50-55% of snaps? If teams think no, how do you justify taking him higher than Round 3?

Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn St

If you’re looking for a player with the potential to go all Nolan Smith at the 2024 NFL Combine, here’s the top choice. Robinson won’t be for everybody in IDP circles. He’s maxed out at just 26 combined tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2022. Smith was similarly under-utilized in college. When Smith ran a 4.39 40-yard dash though, he skyrocketed up boards.

Demeioun “Chop” Robinson is a similarly talented and athletic player. Will he run a 4.39 40? Probably not, but unlikely to rule it out completely. Every year there’s someone who just blows up in the draft process. Robinson is already a borderline first-round selection. He has a chance to push the top three with a good week as one of the combine players to watch on defense.
