“Catch The BIG Plus Money HAIL MARY Week 9 NFL Prop Bets – Only for the Deepest DieHard NFL Defensive fans!”
Khalil Mack Over 0.25 Sacks @ -110 (Chargers)
I know this isn’t a big money-plus bet like normal. However, after a poor and really too rambunctious Week 7, -110 on Mack is close enough. I was looking for an anchor for a three-man conservative round-robin parlay and now it only goes up from here. So the Browns are on tap next for Mack who’s having another Pro Bowl-type season, with an astounding 91.5 PFF grade.
And granted he’s nowhere near his 17-sack pace from last year with just 4 sacks thus far this season. So you can see theres not any dilemma with the talent or history. Macks has been in the league for some time and is just one of those guys who’s not sure how to fade with age. And now he’s facing his first top 3 matchup on paper for the year. As a matter of fact they sit right at the top and have been flirting with the top 5 the entire year.

We’re talking from poor play to injury problems left and right. And that hasn’t changed with an aging Jameis Winston who’s been sacked 3 times in less than 2 games since taking over for an injured Deshawn Watson. And looking at those two matchups, Mack is by far the best-graded and complete edge rusher among them. The Ravens have been pretty decent and the Bengals haven’t exactly lit the word on far as a pass-rushing unit this year.
And as a possible bonus, Joey Bosa (hip) could be on the field for more snaps in Week 9, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Bosa was on the field for 20 snaps in Week 8, and that could help even more as well rested as Bosa has to be. Add all this up and I found the anchor to go with the next two guys, so give me Mack all day long versus the Cleveland Browns a sack at anything this week.
The next two gentlemen you have all become well aware of if you’ve hung out for some Hail Mary parlays with me so far this season. We’re 1 for 2 with both these guys overall and aren’t shying away for the following reasons, and certainly the BIG payout in the end.
Gervon Dexter Over 0.25 Sacks @ +215
Dexter is still overachieving as a 2nd round talent and is still graded very well as an interior pass rusher to this point. He’s also facing a Cardinals team that has been known to give up the sacks on Kyle Murray. However, they have sure up things a little recently, and we’re relying on Dexter’s ability to get after the quarterback as much as anything. He came out from the bye week to have a terrific contest versus the Commanders last week. Recording four solo and 2 assists, from the interior!
According to PFF he’s 4th with 5 sack credits this season and is due to get back on track this week in Arizona. Who happened to just lose a starting right guard Will Hernandez (IR/Knee), and that’s right about the sweet spot for Dexter to be a lot, if not most of the time. If you don’t want to risk the second-year man here, then you might like to look into an older name with DE DeMarcus Walker (+185) when technically in what sacks they have given up, it’s been mainly off the edge.
But I like my man Dexter and want that little extra juice for a modest bet that’ll pay big. Give me Dexter for a sack at a nice +215 this week.
Jonathon Cooper Over 0.25 Sacks @ +260
Cooper is another outstanding under-the-radar pass rusher that’s just not getting any respect. He hit for us one time earlier this season and has continued to be overall constant in getting into the backfield. He’s well above par (75.2) graded and coming off a sack last week with 5.5 sacks, 11 QB Hits, and 7 tackles for a loss on the season so far. And the ringer here is that Baltimore is and has been a top 10 all year in allowing overall production off the edge and flirting with the top 5 pretty often.
Add in Lamar Jackson and his running and scrambling effect, and I’m sold Cooper can get one this week. Jackson isn’t sack-proof by a mile and has been under the gun 12 times this season. And this has actually increased the flow recently with 2 in Week 6, 2 in Week 7, and 3 sacks in Week 8, in the last three games. Yes, we’re shooting for a BIG MONEY plus payout, so give me Cooper as the Bronco’s best overall pass rusher versus Jackson and the high-end production allowed so far on paper this year.
