It can be hard to find sleepers each week. Let’s take a look at some players that could produce in Week three.
We made it through week two and we are ready for week three. If there is a last-minute injury, you may need to scramble to find a player to substitute. That is when this weekly article on offensive sleepers comes in handy. I use Sleeper’s rostered percentage before the Thursday night game to look for offensive sleepers and use anyone under 35% owned.
Quintez Cephus, WR, Detroit Lions – 22% Rostered
Tyrell Williams is not expected to play again this week against the Ravens because of a concussion. This should lead the way for Quintez Cephus to be the leading WR for the Lions. Last Monday night, once Jared Goff found success with Cephus, he targeted him often.
Cephus received the second most targets with seven and is a big-bodied receiver that could find the endzone for a second straight game. So far the Ravens defense is worst against the pass in passing yards per game. While the Lions do not have the most potent offense, there is the opportunity for Cephus to provide solid fill-in value this week.
Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts – 8% Rostered
The Colts are dealing with injuries and after a late injury in week two Carson Wentz may not start this week. Inexperienced QB Jacob Eason looks to get the nod, and with a young QB, he may look to target the TE. Jack Doyle was second in targets with eight last week and with the lack of great TE options, Doyle could provide a solid floor.
Quez Watkins, WR, Philadelphia Eagles – 5% Rostered
The Eagles struggled to score in week two but did outgain the 49ers in total yards. In a Monday night game against the Cowboys this week, it could be a high-scoring affair. Quez Watkins only had 2 targets in week 2, but those went for 117 yards and a near TD. This is more of a hail mary play but if you need help in your flex, Watkins could provide some high-scoring potential.
Scott Miller, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 2% Rostered
In what most consider to be the game of the week with the Bucs and the Rams facing off, Tom Brady could be without WR Antonio Brown who has been placed on the Covid list. Jalen Ramsey should lockdown with Chris Godwin or Mike Evans, so Brady will need another option.
That is where Scotty Miller could come into play in the slot. He has no targets this year but did have 53 last year with Brady. He is another high-risk play but with Brady, every receiver on the field has a chance to make an impact.
Conclusion
Those are my top offensive sleeper candidates going into the third week of the NFL season who are not highly rostered. With Covid protocols, you never know when someone is not going to be inactive on game day. These offensive sleepers could help you fill in your starting lineups for Week three.
