Philadelphia’s defense has controlled the opening week of training camp under Vic Fangio. The defensive front has consistently overwhelmed the offense during padded practices.
Early Philadelphia Eagles odds continue to reflect expectations that this defense will once again be among the league’s best. If the unit carries its training camp momentum into the regular season, those expectations may prove justified.
For IDP fantasy football managers, those performances provide valuable clues. Early camp usage often reveals which defenders could earn larger snap shares once the regular season begins.
Jalen Carter Continues to Raise His IDP Value
Jalen Carter has looked nearly unblockable throughout camp. Fresh off signing a record-setting contract, Carter has repeatedly disrupted plays before they develop. He has consistently won against both the run and pass during team drills.
Those performances suggest Carter’s workload could increase. Instead of rotating heavily, Carter appears positioned to become an every-down defensive tackle. A projected snap share between 75 and 80 percent would place him among the NFL’s busiest interior defenders. That workload gives Carter legitimate DT1 upside in IDP leagues.

Jalyx Hunt Making the Most of His Opportunity
One of camp’s biggest surprises has been rookie edge rusher Jalyx Hunt. Jonathan Greenard’s absence has opened additional first-team reps. Hunt has responded with multiple simulated sacks while consistently pressuring quarterbacks.
The coaching staff appears willing to expand his role early. Hunt projects for roughly 45 to 50 percent of the defensive snaps entering the season. That number could rise if he continues producing throughout preseason action.
Meanwhile, Greenard still projects as the primary starter once healthy. His expected snap share remains around 65 to 70 percent.
Jihaad Campbell Looks Ready for Every-Down Duties
The linebacker position may offer the safest IDP investment.
Jihaad Campbell has stood out throughout camp with excellent range and physicality. He has diagnosed misdirection plays quickly while making several impact stops. Those traits fit perfectly within Fangio’s defense. Campbell currently projects for a 90 to 95 percent snap share. That workload would make him the Eagles’ most valuable linebacker in tackle-heavy fantasy formats.
Zack Baun should remain heavily involved as well. His projected workload falls between 75 and 85 percent, giving the Philadelphia Eagles one of the league’s strongest linebacker pairings.
