Taking a look at the NFL Week 11 from a IDP perspective; notes on what our writer @Orangeman3142 saw this weekend.

This is a continuation of our weekly article series that breaks down what we saw this week in IDP fantasy football. What happened and why, what we got right and what we got wrong and more importantly how to move forward and get better next week. We look at possible waivers and trends, snap counts and issues that affect production for your IDP team. Part one will cover the first three games of week eleven. Keep an eye out for part two.

Let’s get into it.

Packers: We were all wondering who would move over to safety and help fill the void left by the trade of Ha Ha Clinton Dix (S) to the Redskins and to see if that player would be IDP relevant. Tramon Williams (CB, S) was moved to safety two weeks ago but only has the safety designation in some leagues, he is still currently listed as a corner in Yahoo for example, this is relevant because he led the Packers in overall IDP production this week with 7 combined tackles on 99% of snaps.

If his designation is changed to safety that’s great, if not that’s good as well you can get safety production from the corner slot giving you an advantage over your leaguemates, he has the playing time and had the production this week so I’m pulling the trigger on him in every league where I have specific corner spots and playing him there.

Josh Jones (S) the other safety also had a nice game with 7 combined tackles as well playing 100% of snaps, so neither has distinguished himself as the guy to own so for now I’d say pick up Williams and play him at corner and if you need safety help Jones may be an option for that slot.

Jaire Alexander (CB) has been on fire in the past few weeks and had another nice game with 6 solo tackles on 100% of snaps and is pretty much a lock to have a good game against teams that pass the ball effectively like Seattle did this week. Blake Martinez (LB) had a bit of a down week with 6 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps but remains a tier one weekly auto start.

Kenny Clark (DT) had a solid game as well this week with 4 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 81% of snaps and is having a great year, he’s a solid tier two producer and an auto start in deeper leagues. His counterpart Mike Daniels (DE, DT) had zero stats of any kind this week while playing 49% of snaps and has been spotty most of the year anyways.

Clay Matthews (LB, EDGE) had the rare serviceable game without recording a sack putting up 5 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 77% of snaps but is still best used in specific EDGE or OLB slots only.

Seahawks: It looks like Bobby Wagner (LB) is getting back into the groove, he led the Hawks in overall IDP production once again this week with 9 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps and is starting to produce like the tier one guy we all know his is.

Tre Flowers (CB) was next with 6 combined tackles playing 100% of snaps in an ideal matchup against a pass happy team and is a good option against teams like Green Bay that throw a lot and effectively. Frank Clark (DE) continues to be the absolute best deal at defensive end anyone has gotten this season considering his ADP, he had 4 combined tackles, 2 sacks and 1 TFL on 90% of snaps this week and is already into double digits for sacks this year.

Both Bradley McDougald (S) and Tedric Thompson (S) had down games this week in a good matchup but have proven to be very consistent over the course of the season so I’m not even close to abandoning ship on either. KJ Wright (LB) was injured and out and Jarran Reed (DT) had a serviceable game with 2 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks and 0.5 TFL on 84% of snaps this week and remains a decent end of tier two option at defensive tackle. That’s it for IDP relevant guys on Seattle this week.

Cowboys: It was a surprise for me to see Xavier Woods (S) at the top of the Cowboys box score this week with 9 combined tackles on 100% of snaps this week, he’s been spotty all year so I’d look elsewhere for safety help even though that is a nice stat line.

Next up was Leighton Vander Esch Mein Shizor (LB) who had another monster game with 8 combined tackles, 3 PD and 1 INT on 98% of snaps played, he’s a tier one God among men while Sean Lee (LB) is injured and out and Esch is getting the extra playing time. Jaylon Smith (LB) had a stinker with just 2 combined tackles on 100% of snaps this week, he should be fine though he’s had a great season overall.

Chidobe Awuzie (CB) had an ideal matchup this week against a pass happy Falcons squad and took advantage with 7 combined tackles on 100% of snaps this week, I would not hesitate to play him one bit against any team that can pass the ball effectively. Byron Jones (CB, S) had a nice game as well with 7 combined tackles, 1 TFL and 1 PD on 100% of snaps but has cooled down significantly since the start of the season so I’ve moved on from him.

DeMarcus Lawrence (DE) had another awesome game with 5 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 TFL on 84% of snaps and continues his monster tier one season, he’s an auto start no doubt about it. Randy Gregory (DE) continues to be a nice spot start and had another serviceable week if you used him in that fashion with 1 solo tackle, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 61% of snaps this week.

Tyrone Crawford (DE) had a stinker and has been talked about as yet another option at defensive end with the injury to Taco Charlton (DE) but I would stay away from him there are already plenty of Indians on this defensive line and not enough production around to keep everyone happy.

Falcons: With his activation off of IR we all thought this was the week that Deion Jones (LB) would be back, but alas we flew too close to the sun and our wings melted, maybe next week. For probably the last time this season it was Foye Oluokon (LB) leading the way for the Falcons with 10 combined tackles on 75% of snaps. If you haven’t gotten what you need out of him by now it’s too late, once Jones returns this party is over.

DeVondre Campbell (LB) was next with 6 combined tackles on 81% of snaps and will probably be still in play when Jones returns but how much he’ll play, what position and what kind of production are all questions without answers at the moment so I would look elsewhere for linebacker help.

Robert Alford (CB) has been quietly having a nice season at IDP corner and had another good week with 5 combined tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps, he’s playable against teams with good passing offense which is NOT the Cowboys, he just got lucky this week.

DaMontae Kazee (S) has been doing great filling in for Keanu Neal (S) all season but had a bit of a lower production than usual game for him this week with 5 combined tackles on 100% of snaps. He continues to be a rock solid tier two performer though so I’ll keep playing him weekly.

Vic Beasely (DE) had a monster game but is so ridiculously spotty it’s a waste of time to talk about him, if you need defensive end help there are better and more reliable options. Grady Jarrett (DT) also had a down game this week with just 3 combined tackles playing 75% of snaps this week, he’s a reliable defensive tackle option and this wasn’t even close to a total bust so just keep plugging him in every week.

Panthers: It was the Luke Kuechly (LB) show this week once again with him recording 11 combined tackles and 2 TFL on 100% of snaps this week, he’s a tier one auto start case closed. Mike Adams (S) the tier two safety had a great week with 9 combined tackles and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps and has been rock solid all year with a very sturdy floor that he exceeded quite a bit this week.

Thomas Davis (LB) was next with 6 combined tackles on 100% of snaps and remains a nice tier two option you got for free after week 4 this season if you’ve been reading this article series every week or listening to the podcast. Shaq Thompson (LB) also had a decent game with 6 combined tackles on 63% of snaps but has been super spotty all season so I’m all set with him.

Eric Reid (S) has been an awesome waiver wire pickup since his mid-season signing for the Panthers, this week he had 5 solo tackles and 1 PD on 100% of snaps, he just keeps right on chugging I love this guy. James Bradberry (CB) had an ideal matchup and took advantage with 4 solo tackles on 100% of snaps played. This is a little down from his normal production but 4 solo tackles for IDP corner isn’t bad at all, in general it’s a boom or bust position so this was a serviceable week.

Mario Addison (DE) and Kawan Short (DT) are the two defensive line players I follow on the Panthers and both had quiet weeks but Addison’s was at least serviceable with 3 combined tackles and 2 TFL on 68% of snaps while Short only had 2 solo tackles and 1 PD on 65% of snaps this week. Short is playable weekly as a tier two defensive tackle while Addison is best used as a spot start unless in deeper leagues.

Lions: The Lions didn’t have to make a ton of plays on defense this week the Panthers didn’t come to play this week and made a ridiculous decision to go for two instead of settling for overtime during the last minute of the game, Lions had a lot of time of possession and the IDP production wasn’t as plentiful as we all wanted.

Jarrad Davis (LB) led the way with 6 solo tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 100% of snaps this week and remains the only tier one weekly auto start on this team besides Damon Harrison (DT) who had a down week after three monster weeks in a row recording 3 combined tackles and 1 PD playing 67% of snaps this week, he’ll be fine.

Both IDP relevant safeties Quandre Diggs (S) and Glover Quinn (S) had 3 combined tackles between them, like I said this wasn’t a great week for Detroit IDP production. Devon Kennard (LB) salvaged a serviceable game with a sack on top of his 4 solo tackles on 100% of snaps this week but remains nothing more than a spot start or tier three or four guy in deep leagues.

Ezekiel Ansah (DE) put up a decent game with 2 combined tackles, 1 sack and 1 TFL on 43% of snaps this week, he could be a solid tier two producer if he can ever stay healthy.

Make sure you catch part two dropping tomorrow and keep an eye out for my start or sit article dropping Sunday morning. My bad habit of going too far into detail means this article is in multiple parts instead of one novel.
