Coupling Joe Mixon With Nick Chubb Is Worth The Risk!

“Joe Mixon is a BEAST and is a great option for your 2025 Fantasy Football team. However, his frequent lower-body injuries make him a high-risk pick. It is fair for Fantasy managers to proceed with caution. Those targeting Mixon need to couple him with Nick Chubb

In 2024, Joe Mixon posted 1,016 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns over 14 games, with 36 receptions for 309 yards—marking his fourth 1,000-yard season and helping Houston achieve its first 1,000-yard rusher since 2019. He averaged over 4.1 yards per carry with 52 catches in the 2024 season. Mixon is a versatile weapon in both rushing and passing plays.

With the accolades comes a battled ankle, foot, hamstring, quad, and soft‑tissue injuries—even entering the offseason with a walking boot and missing early OTAs. An ankle NFL injury cost Mixon three games in 2024. With Nick Chubb now in Houston—signed partly due to Mixon’s durability concerns—Mixon will likely share workload, reducing his fantasy ceiling. This is why you need to target Nick Chubb if you plan on rolling the dice on Joe Mixon.

Badminton Has Helped Nick Chubb With Agility

Nick Chubb joins the Houston Texans as a proven veteran with a track record of production—when healthy. Chubb has had his own issues with health. He has even turned to sports like Badminton and Dodgeball in an effort to maintain agility.

Like the NFL, badminton is a fast-paced racket sport played on a court where players score points by hitting a shuttlecock over a net using speed, agility, and precise hand-eye coordination. Of course, as NFL fans we like to project on rushing yard props. Sure, we understand the risk in picking up high-risk injury players like Joe Mixon & Nick Chubb. This risk is safer than trying to analyse badminton odds. Although if my fantasy team gets off to a shaky start, I am willing to give badminton a shot.

Joe Mixon A Low Tier 3 NFL RB? No Way!

Mixon is one of only a handful of running backs to finish in the fantasy top 12 in points per game for three consecutive seasons. Historically requiring a premium draft cost, Mixon now offers the same high-volume upside at a fifth- or sixth-round price. Excellent value can be yours! He provides more dependable production than similarly priced RBs—making a strong case that he should be ranked closer to RB3–4, not 6.
