Week 15 IDP Sleepers

Note: All rankings for this Week 15 IDP Sleepers article are taken from the Week 15 rankings at FantasyPros. As always, let’s start things off by setting some expectations for this article. What this piece will not be doing is hyping up obvious IDP stars — projecting that Aidan Hutchinson or Myles Garrett will have productive outings isn’t exactly breaking news. Instead, we’re focused on uncovering players with sneaky upside who can outperform their rankings.

Ok, enough logistics — let’s dive into our Week 15 IDP Sleepers!

Defensive Line Week 15 Sleepers

Abdul Carter – (DL57)

Week 15 Opponent: Hosting the Commanders

Let’s kick this article off with a rookie! Abdul Carter, by all accounts, is having a disappointing year. He was one of the first rookie defenders off the board in the draft, but he only has 1.5 sacks to show for it. With that being said, I believe there is room for optimism for Carter moving forward this year. For one, in his last game, Carter “went off” by his standards for a sack and four combined tackles. So his stats are looking up! Part two of the optimism is who the Giants will be playing in Week 15, namely the Washington Commanders. Jayden Daniels is already ruled out, so the Giants’ defensive line will be able to tee off on Marcus Mariota. Carter’s play time is such that we can expect better production moving forward. I wouldn’t trust him as more than a desperation play, but Carter is moving in the right direction!

Jalyx Hunt – (DL35)

Week 15 Opponent: Hosting the Raiders

Welcome to the article, Jalyx Hunt! If you haven’t been paying attention, Hunt is having a sneaky great sophomore campaign for the Eagles. In the last game, he went off for two and a half sacks and an epic eight combined tackles. Looking to build off of this momentum, the Eagles will be hosting the lowly Raiders in Week 15. The Raiders are a treasure trove for IDP managers, as they not only give up a bunch of sacks, but also like to turn the ball over a bunch as well.

Being ranked as the DL35 feels appropriate, but there is a real chance that Hunt grabs another few splash plays in this game. Like the player before him, I wouldn’t trust him as anything more than a desperation flier, but if you’re in that spot you can do far worse.

Linebacker Sleepers

Robert Spillane – (LB25)

Week 15 Opponent: Hosting the Bills

Robert Spillane started the year on an IDP tear, but as since fallen back to the middle of the pack of linebacker options. I’m here to tell you that this is the week that he puts up LB1 numbers, however! For one, Spillane plays nearly 100% of defensive snaps, so he’s got the playing time to rack up tackles. The Patriots are playing a Bills team that extends drives and puts up a bunch of plays, leading to even more opportunities for the linebacker.

In what could be a shootout, Spillane feels like a lock to rack up 10 combined tackles. While he’s ranked as the LB25 this week, there is clear top-15 upside. While being LB25 might not be much of a “sleeper”, his poor performance last week should not disuade you from starting him where you have him this week.

Drake Thomas – (LB37)

Week 15 Opponent: Hosting the Colts

Don’t look now, but Drake Thomas is having a sneaky good year! In his past three games, Thomas has averaged almost 7 combined tackles. As the LB37, or a LB3/Flex target, what you are looking for is a nice tackle floor. Thomas has done that this year in spades. The Seahawks face a Colts team this week that has a million question marks at the Quarterback position. Do you know where the Colts don’t have questions? Their Running Back room!

We should expect a huge workload for Jonathan Taylor this week, leading to plenty of tackle opportunities for our linebacker here. Another 7-tackle day should be in store for Thomas, leading to an even better finishing spot than his LB37 ranking would indicate. You have been warned!

Defensive Back Sleepers

Tre’von Moehrig – (DB32)

Week 15 Opponent: Away at the Saints

Moehrig has been on a tear this season, so it’s surprising to see him ranked as the DB32 this week. Coming off a suspension, there is a chance that the rankers have simply forgotten about the Panthers’ defensive back. He plays nearly 100% of defensive snaps and has averaged nearly 7 combined tackles per game. This alone makes Moehrig better than his DB32 ranking for Week 15, but who does he get to potentially intercept?

None other than the New Orleans Saints! Tyler Shough has been up and down in his starts, but he certainly is one who has the capacity to turn the ball over. The Saints have been extending drives recently, so Moehrig will have opportunities for a base of tackles and potentially a splash play or two. Go ahead and start him wherever you have him.

Kyle Dugger – (DB73)

Week 15 Opponent: Hosting the Dolphins

Wrapping up the article this week is none other than Kyle Dugger. Since being acquired by the Steelers, Dugger has averaged around 5 combined tackles a game. Being ranked as the DB73, the rankers clearly don’t think that he is worth much more than a can of beans! I’m here to tell you that, while he’s not a superstar, he’s certainly worth starting in deeper formats. Just look at that pick-six he had the last time I recommended him! He’s capable of doing great things for your team.

Dugger has played 99% of defensive snaps with the Steelers, and that won’t change in a matchup against the surging Dolphins. The Dolphins will give Dugger plenty of opportunities for a tackle floor and a splash play or two, so you can do far worse than starting Dugger in the IDP flex spot.
