Need some IDP Investments to help bolster your devy football portfolios for this season? I have you covered!

We’re deep into the college football season with Week 10 now in the books. The IDP devy playoffs are almost here and it’s time to get those rosters in check for a championship run. What are your weaknesses and what players should you acquire to address those weak spots? I have all the answers to your questions and will help you get your IDP devy portfolios up to date.

Before we get into this week’s options, I wanted to add something new to my IDP Devy Stock Market for Week 9. I want to take a quick review and show you the success or failure rate of the investments that I gave you last week.

Success Rate

For reference nine points or less is a miss, 10 -19 is a hit and over 20 is an explosive hit. With that, I had an okay week as I hit on 67% of my suggested investments last week and 33% were explosive hits. That’s a huge week and brings my success rate over the past two weeks to 71.4% with a 42.8% explosive hit rate.

Cam’ron Carter, linebacker for Colorado State, was an explosive hit with 28 fantasy points on a 14 tackle, five being solo, one TFL, and one sack performance. Iowa State defensive end, Eyioma Uwzurike, was also a miss for me this week as he just had five fantasy points. He would record just two tackles, with one being a solo stop. Luke Masterson, safety for Wake Forest, was a hit (barely) with 10 points on four tackles, all being solos. Not the huge hit week I had the week before, but not horrible either.

Please keep in mind this list just isn’t weekly options, but also long-term investments that you should be adding to your IDP devy portfolios. Now let’s take a look at a few investments and liquidations for this week.

IDP Devy Investments

Bryce Gallagher, LB, Northwestern

If you’re in need of help at the linebacker position, Gallagher is one of the hotter stocks over the last four weeks. Over the last four games, he recorded a total of 46 tackles, 22 solos, three TFLs, and one sack. Gallagher has had at least double digits tackles in all of those games. His 64 total tackles rank ninth in the Big Ten Conference.

Gallagher is averaging 15 fantasy points per game and is rostered in just 5% of Fantrax IDP devy leagues. There has been a 2.3% investment increase in investments in his stock this week. On the season Gallagher has 64 tackles, 34 solos, four TFLs, and one sack. Being a sophomore makes Gallagher one of the best young investments on the market right now. Even if you’re not a playoff team, adding Gallagher to your IDP devy portfolios will be a wise long-term investment.

Ron Stone Jr, DE, Washington State

If you are looking for help in the pass-rushing department, then Stone is definitely a stock option that you’ll want to invest in. Stone has had at least one sack in five of the last six games. He’s also had at least six tackles in five of his last six games as well. Stone has been a high-impact disruptor this season as he ranks second in the Pac-12 Conference in both TFLs and sacks.

On the season Stone has recorded 47 tackles, 26 being solos, 10½ TFLs, five sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Stone is averaging 12.8 fantasy points per game and is rostered in 26% of Fantrax IDP devy leagues. Investors have taken notice of his high return potential which has resulted in a 10.5% increase of being added to IDP devy portfolios.

Stone has another year of eligibility left and it remains to be seen if he’ll declare for the draft at season’s end, but he’s definitely worth adding to your rosters.

Joey Noble, DE, New Mexico

If some of my other options at defensive end are gone, Noble is a low-invested in stock that can provide you decent return for your fantasy teams. On the season Noble has produced 54 tackles, 32 being solos, 12½ TFLs, 4½ sacks, and one PBU. He leads the Mountain West Conference in TFLs and also ranks seventh overall in the NCAA.

Noble is rostered in 26% of Fantrax IDP devy leagues and is averaging 15.5 fantasy points per game. Noble is an IDP devy only stock for the time being as I don’t see him being anything special at the next level. With that said he can be a valuable piece for you down the stretch for your IDP college leagues.

Noble has provided a consistent return all season, as he’s scored at least 12 fantasy points in every game but one.

IDP Devy Liquidations

Demetrius Taylor, DE, Appalachian State

Statistically, this season just hasn’t been what fantasy managers expected from Taylor. He is not exactly playing badly, but opposing teams are paying more attention to him and are scheming Taylor out of plays. Stat wise this is his worst season since 2018. Taylor has shown flashes of the big impact potential he has, in games versus Georgia State and Coastal Carolina.

Taylor is averaging a surprisingly low 4.5 fantasy points per game and only 25% of managers in Fantrax IDP Devy leagues have him rostered. At this point of the fantasy season, he’s just not a reliable option for your fantasy teams. However, I do like his NFL potential, so I don’t mind keeping him stashed if you have the room.

If you are playing Taylor, the schedule down the stretch is favorable for him to have some good games.

Cade Hall, DE, San Jose State

There was a lot of hype heading into this year around last year’s Mountain West Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year but Hall just hasn’t been able to replicate that success this year. Hall led the MWC and was second nationally in sacks (10) and was second in the MWC in TFLs (12). While his tackles numbers are still there, his impact numbers are half of what they were a year ago.

Hall is averaging just 5.9 fantasy points per game and is only 14% of managers in Fantrax IDP devy leagues have him rostered. He has only scored more than 10 fantasy points twice this season. Both of those came in the last three games played. Hall battled some injuries early this season and as you can see he hasn’t performed his best this year.

Hall has NFL upside, so if you can stash him that would be nice. If you don’t have the room, I would liquidate any shares of him and look for an upgrade.

Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee

Taylor is a really good and dependable cornerback in real-life football but that doesn’t always translate to fantasy points. Being the best corner on the team tends to leave quarterbacks not throwing his way very much. Taylor is averaging only six fantasy points per game and only 5% of managers in Fantrax IDP devy leagues have him rostered.

On the season, Taylor hasn’t been bad statistically. Without the big impact scoring plays, he has left fantasy managers wanting more. The tackle numbers are there for Taylor and are actually on pace for his career-best. He also ranks eighth in the SEC with five PBUs this season. For fantasy purposes, he’s just not providing enough return worth keeping him in your IDP devy portfolios.
