Every week we will break down the notable players that are on the injury report for the current week and who could replace them.
Below we will go over the injury report for Week 9. Let’s see who makes the list this week!
49ers @ Cardinals
For the 49ers, defensive lineman Dee Ford (quad) was limited in practice this week but was declared good to go for TNF. For Arizona, linebacker Hasaan Reddick (knee) didn’t practice earlier in the week, but go in a full practice yesterday and is good to go for tonight.
Texans @ Jaguars
In Houston, the only IDP relevant player on the injury report is safety Tashaun Gipson who has been dealing with a back and wrist injury. If he can’t suit up in London this week Jaheel Addae would take his place. For Jacksonville, defensive lineman Calais Campbell (back) did not practice on Wednesday. If things start trending in the wrong direction for him this week look for rookie Josh Allen to have an increased role.
Bears @ Eagles
No IDP relevant players popped up for the Bears on Wednesday. For Philly, linebacker Nigel Bradham is still dealing with an ankle injury. If he can’t go again this week T.J. Edwards would be his backup.
Vikings @ Chiefs
Defensive tackle Linval Joseph was listed on the injury report dealing with a knee injury, but that didn’t stop him from participating fully in practice on Wednesday. For Kansas City, defensive linemen Frank Clark (neck) and Alex Okafor (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Their backups would be Tanoh Kapassagnon and Emmanuel Ogbah. Defensive tackle Chris Jones was limited in practice with a groin injury on Wednesday. If he misses another game Kahluen Saunders would continue to fill in for him
Colts @ Steelers
Defensive lineman Jabaal Sheard (foot) and safety Khari Willis (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. If Sheard can’t go Al-Quadin Muhammad would fill in for him. Willis’ backup duties would fall to either George Odem or Rolan Milligan. For Pittsburgh, there are no IDP relevant players to report as of Wednesday.
Jets @ Dolphins
Linebackers C.J. Mosley (groin) and Neville Hewitt (neck/knee) are likely out this week for the Jets as is Blake Cashman who was put on IR on Thursday. For the Dolphins, safety Rashaad Jones (chest) did not practice on Wednesday putting his availability for another week in doubt. Steven Parker would replace him this week. Fellow safety Bobby McCain (shoulder) was also listed on the injury report but got in a limited practice on Wednesday. In the event he can’t go Walt Alkens would be his replacement
Redskins @ Bills
For the Redskins, Montae Nicholson (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. If he misses another week Troy Apke would fill in for him again. For Buffalo, Lorenzo Alexander was listed on the injury report but was merely given a rest day on Wednesday. He should be good to go on Sunday.
Titans @ Panthers
Defensive tackle for the Titans Jurrell Casey (shoulder) has not practiced all week and is trending in the wrong direction. Isaiah Mack would take his place if he can’t go. For the Panthers, defensive end Mario Addison hasn’t practiced all week but his absences have not been injury-related. Linebacker Shaq Thompson (ankle) got in a limited practice on Thursday and is looking like he will play on Sunday.
Lions @ Raiders
For the Lions, safety Tracy Walker (knee) has not practiced all week. Miles Killebrew would take his place if he can’t play on Sunday. Cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Keep an eye on his level of participation on Friday. If he can’t go Rashaan Melvin would continue taking his place. For the Raiders, safety Erik Harris (illness) popped up on the injury report on Thursday but barring him contracting ebola he should be good to go for Sunday’s matchup in Oakland.
Buccaneers @ Seahawks
No one for the Bucs popped on the injury report so far this week. For the Seahawks, both strong safeties Quandre Diggs (hamstring) and Lano Hill (elbow) haven’t practiced this week as of Wednesday. The only other safeties on the current depth chart are Marquise Blair and Ugo Amadi. Edge rusher Ziggy Ansah (ankle) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and is, hopefully, trending towards playing in week 9. If for some reason he can’t Rasheem Green would continue taking his place. Linebacker K.J. Wright was limited on Wednesday with a knee injury. If for some reason he can’t play Ben Burr-Kirven would start in his place.
Packers @ Chargers
All IDP relevant players for the Packers, listed on the injury report, were full participants in practice on Thursday. For the Chargers, safety Roderic Teamer (groin) was downgraded to DNP on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. If he can’t go Jaylen Watkins would start in his place.
Browns @ Broncos
For the Browns starting safety Damarious Randall (hamstring) has not practiced all week is trending towards not playing. His backup Eric Murray is also listed on the injury report with a knee injury. Sheldrick Redwine would fill in for both of them if they can’t go. In Denver inside linebacker Todd Davis (knee/hip) did not practice on Wednesday. If he can’t play his backup would be Josey Jewell. Von Miller, also, didn’t practice on Wednesday. His back up is Jeremiah Attaochu.
Patriots @ Ravens
In New England, safety Patrick Chung (heel/chest) was limited on Thursday. Duron Harmon would start if he can’t go. In Baltimore, Earl Thomas hasn’t practiced this week with a knee injury. Bennette Jackson is listed as his backup. Linebacker Patrick Onuwasor (ankle) returned to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday. If he has a setback, L.J. Fort would start in his place.
Cowboys @ Giants
