Every week we will break down the notable players that are on the injury report for the current week and who could replace them.

Below we will go over the injury report for Week 5. Some big names on the list, let us see who will replace them.

Jaguars @ Panthers

For the Jaguars, safety Ronnie Harrison (knee) got in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday, but barring a DNP on Friday he should be suiting up on Sunday. The same cannot be said for fellow defensive back Jalen Ramsey who’s missed both Wednesday and Thursday’s practice with a back injury. His playing status for Sunday’s matchup in Carolina is in doubt. Rookie edge rusher Josh Allen (knee) was limited in practice both days this week, but seeing as he was dealing with the same issue last week yet still played on Sunday I’m going to assume he plays this Sunday behind Yannick Ngakoue.

In Carolina, Kawann Short was placed on injured reserve this week making Vernon Butler the player you would want to start. Edge rusher Brian Burns (wrist) & safety Eric Reid (ankle) have not practiced this week, and are trending in the wrong direction for Sunday. Burns played against the Texans with the same injury last week and should play again in week 5, but one has to question his effectiveness on the field. If Eric Reid doesn’t play, backup Rashaan Gaulden would play in his place.

Patriots @ Redskins

In New England, safety Patrick Chung (heel) and linebacker Dont’a Hightower (shoulder) were both limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but should be fine for this weekend’s matchup.

For the “burgundy and gold”, starting cornerback Josh Norman (knee) was limited in practice to start the week, but then did not practice on Thursday. We’ll have to see how this plays out to end the week. If he doesn’t end up playing on Sunday, backup Aaron Colvin is a name you should keep in the back of your head as he’ll likely be targeted often on Sunday making him a high tackle number candidate in IDP.

Bills @ Titans

No notable IDP candidates were on the injury report of the Bills so far this week.

For the Titans, edge rusher Cameron Wake (hamstring) hasn’t practiced all week. Wesley Woodyard sliding over to outside linebacker could be an option if Wake can’t go. Technically, Sharif Finch is Wake’s backup, so either way, stay tuned to the news as this develops heading into Sunday.

Ravens @ Steelers

For the Ravens, cornerback Jimmy Smith (knee) hasn’t practiced this week just like weeks prior. Anthony Averett should be starting in his place this week.

For the “black and yellow”, no starting IDP worthy players made the injury report this week as of Thursday.

Cardinals @ Bengals

For Arizona, safety Budda Baker (thigh) started the week limited but returned to full practice on Thursday. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (back) did not practice on Thursday. Keep an eye out for this as the week comes to a close. If he can’t play, backup Cassius Marsh Sr. would get the nod in his place.

In Cincy, all IDP startable assets were full go in practice this week as of Wednesday.

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (elbow) was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but should be fine for Sunday. Safety Damontae Kazee missed practice this week due to illness. He “should” be good to go, but check back on Friday just to be sure.

Everyone is all healthy as far as IDP is concerned in Houston.

Buccaneers @ Saints

For Tampa, linebacker Shaquil Barrett (groin) DNP on Wednesday but got in a limited practice on Thursday. He seems to be trending in the right direction for Sunday. Rookie linebacker Devin White (knee) was full-go on Thursday and should return to action this week.

For New Orleans, both safety Vonn Bell (back) and defensive end Cameron Jordan (calf) were limited, so far, this week in practice. Stay tuned as we get closer to game-time, BUT all indications have them playing on Sunday in this NFC South divisional matchup!

Vikings @ Giants

All clear on the Vikings front in terms of IDP prospects.

For New York, Alec Ogletree (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday putting his availability in doubt. If he can’t go David Mayo would be his backup!

Bears @ Raiders (In London)

Akiem Hicks (knee), for Chicago, hasn’t practiced at all this week. Roy Robertson-Harris is listed as his backup.

For Oakland, Clelin Ferrell (concussion) is still in the concussion protocol and will likely not play on Sunday. Lamarcus Joyner (groin) was limited in practice on Thursday. Friday’s practice will be telling of his availability this week. Curtis Riley would take his place on Sunday if he couldn’t play.

Jets @ Eagles

For the Jets, linebacker C.J. Mosley (groin) is likely to miss another week of action. Look for Blake Cashman to continue filling the void at ILB for New York.

The Eagles starting cornerback Ronald Darby has missed practice all week. Rasul Douglas would start in his place if he can’t go.

Broncos @ Chargers

Bradley Chubb tore his ACL and was placed on IR. Malik Reed will take over edge rusher duties for Chubb. Kareem Jackson was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, and barring any setbacks should return to action in LA.

The Chargers could be without Melvin Ingram for a few weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Issac Rochel would be in line to take over duties for Ingram.

Packers @ Cowboys

For Green Bay, safety Adrian Amos (biceps) and linebacker Blake Martinez (shoulder) are listed on the injury report for the Packers but should be able to play on Sunday.

In Dallas, all-pro defensive end Demarcus Lawrence (knee/shoulder) was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but will likely play on Sunday. Safety Xavier Woods (ankle) is listed on the injury report but was a full participant in practice this week and will be good to go.

Colts @ Chiefs

Linebacker Darius Leonard (concussion), for the Colts, returned to practice this week and should return to action this week. Clayton Geathers (concussion) has not practiced all week putting his availability in doubt. Should he not play George Odum is a name to keep an eye on.

In Kansas City, defensive lineman Alex Okafor (Hip) was limited in practice this week but should be available on Sunday.

Browns @ 49ers

Starting cornerbacks for the Browns, Greedy Williams (hamstring) and Denzel Ward (hamstring) haven’t practiced all week and are looking like they won’t play on Monday Night. Backups T.J. Carrier and Terrance Mitchell would take their place. Starting safety Morgan Burnett (quad) finally got in a practice session, granted in a limited fashion. If he doesn’t suitup then Jermaine Whitehead would continue starting in his place.

For the 49ers, defensive lineman Dee Ford (quad) did not practice on Thursday. Taking his place along the defensive front would be Nick Bosa if Ford couldn’t start.
