Week 7 IDP Sleepers

Note: All rankings for this Week 7 IDP Sleepers article are taken from the Week 7 rankings at FantasyPros. As always, let’s start things off by setting some expectations for this article. What this piece will not be doing is hyping up obvious IDP stars — projecting that Zach Baun or Aidan Hutchinson will have productive outings isn’t exactly breaking news. Instead, we’re focused on uncovering players with sneaky upside who can outperform their rankings.

It’s worth mentioning that just like finding hidden IDP value, savvy bettors are always looking for great gambling sites outside the U.S. If you’re exploring international markets, you’ll find several secure non GamStop bookmaker options offering unique odds and gaming experiences that rival major U.S. sportsbooks. Similar to spotting an overlooked linebacker or defensive lineman, success often comes down to doing the research and trusting your instincts.

Ok, enough logistics — let’s dive into our Week 7 IDP Sleepers!

Defensive Line Week 7 Sleepers

Milton Williams – (DL63)

Week 7 Opponent: Away at the Titans

Let’s kick things off with Milton Williams, the big free agency signing of the Patriots! We all know that Mike Vrabel is returning to his former coaching spot, and we know that the Patriots are going to be keyed up to perform. Cam Ward is the most sacked Quarterback in the league. With the Titans projected to be down early, Ward will be passing a ton, leading to plenty of sack opportunities for the entire Patriots’ defensive line.

Insert Williams! The DT has had a very productive start to his Patriots’ tenure, ranking among the top DTs in the league in pressure rate. I see him breaking through in this matchup for a sack or two. As the DL63, you are probably only starting him in DT-required leagues, but if you have him, make sure you play him!

 Jonathan Greenard – (DL28)

Week 7 Opponent: Hosting the Eagles

We are back on the Greenard train this week! It’s simple: Greenard is getting the usage to expect a breakout game, and he’s playing a team that gives up a ton of sacks. Greenard has played 89% of defensive snaps this year, which is well above the 80% of snaps we typically look for in a defensive lineman to warrant starting consideration. Jalen Hurts has been sacked the third most times in the league.

Ranked as the DL28, I understand that Greenard has yet to pull it together this year. BUT! If you are looking for a sleeper who could go off this week, you can do a whole lot worse than Greenard this week. One of these weeks, the play time will equate to fantasy riches, right?

Linebacker Sleepers

Cody Barton – (LB31)

Week 7 Opponent: Hosting the Patriots

Yep, you read that right! I am double-dipping in this game! The Patriots have not been able to run the ball well all year, which would lead you to believe that a linebacker would not be a great choice as a sleeper this week. However, I project this game to be a perfect opportunity for the Patriots to “figure out” their running game. Go up big against a team that has been susceptible to the run, and boom, tons of running play calls.

Insert Cody Barton, currently ranked as the LB31. He has LB2 written all over him in a matchup where the Titans will be on defense for a ton of snaps. Go ahead and start him as your LB3 with confidence.

Barrett Carter – (LB35)

Week 7 Opponent: Hosting the Steelers

I find it hard to believe that Carter is ranked as the LB35 this week. In case you haven’t heard, Carter took over for the benched Logan Wilson last week. In fact, Carter ended up with the “green dot” and played 100% of defensive snaps. Any linebacker playing that much is worthy of fantasy consideration in all formats. Being ranked as LB35 is a crime, I say, a crime!

Then, take into account the team the Bengals are playing! The Steelers boast a run-first offense that projects to sustain drives, leading to plenty of tackle opportunities. While we don’t have any indication that Carter will be put in a place for splash plays, what we can expect is a healthy tackle-floor. Start him as your LB3 with expectations for more.

Jaquan Brisker – (DB34)

Week 7 Opponent: Hosting the Saints

Once a fantasy star on the rise, Brisker has generally underwhelmed later in his career. This would explain his DB34 ranking this week. However, there is a lot to like about his matchup against the Saints this week. First off, Brisker is playing 100% of defensive snaps, meaning he’s on the field and ready to make plays. Secondly, the Saints have figured some things out on offense and are finally sustaining drives.

With the Saints having longer drives, this increases Brisker’s tackle-floor. That, plus the Saints’ propensity for turning the ball over, leads to tantalizing prospects for Brisker this week. As DB34, you can safely start him as your DB3 this week with the potential that Briskers captures some of that early-career magic we’ve been longing for.

Trent McDuffie – (DB75)

Week 7 Opponent: Hosting the Raiders

It feels like tradition to end with a Cornerback in my sleepers article, so why stop it now! McDuffie has been an absolute menace from the Cornerback spot this year. In order to be fantasy relevant at the position any given week, you need to be playing a team that will be throwing a lot and has a history of turning the ball over. May I introduce you to the Las Vegas Raiders!

Geno Smith leads the league with 9 interceptions. The Chiefs seemingly have figured out their offense, which means the Raiders will need to score and score quickly if they want any chance of keeping up. A Cornerback going against a QB who turns the ball over more than anyone else in the league, plus a game script where said QB will need to be throwing a ton? I’ll take McDuffie at DB75 any day of the week!
