Who are the top-scoring IDP rookies from Week 3? Check out the IDP Rookie Recap to see who they are and the impact that they had.

Each week, I will recap the previous week’s top-scoring IDP rookies. The scoring for the rookies is based on the “IDP Nation Listener League 2” scoring. I’ll break down the Tier 1 rookies (top 12 scoring rookies) and what their impact could have on your fantasy team’s rosters.

From stud rookies to the one-hit wonders, I will give you everything you need to know about the rookies you drafted. There are some new names on the list this week, so let’s take a look at the top-performing rookies from Week 3. Here, is the IDP Rookie Recap.

Cornerbacks

Marco Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

Wilson makes his first appearance on the list this season with 22.5 fantasy points scored (FPTS) in Week 3. He started his third consecutive game and played all 68 defensive snaps (100%), producing six tackles — all solos — and one PBU.

Wilson is currently rostered in less than 1% of MFL.com leagues. With how the Cardinals have been defensively, he could be a decent streaming option at CB. Playing opposite of Byron Murphy, Wilson will have the opportunity to pile up stats. With his breakout performance last week, he’s a great waiver addition and will likely see an increase in being rostered.

Tyson Campbell, Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars’ first-round pick, CB Tyson Campbell, scored 22 fantasy points against Cincinnati in Week 3. This was his second straight start and he’s seen a steady increase in snaps each game. Campbell played all 67 of the defensive snaps (100%) in Week 3 and had a breakout performance of eight tackles — six solos — and one PBU.

The Jaguars just traded away CB C.J. Henderson a few days ago, so look for Campbell to keep receiving all of the starting reps. Fantasy managers started Campbell in 27% of MFL.com leagues last week and that number will continue to rise. Jacksonville is struggling to put up points offensively, which is keeping the defense on the field more. Campbell is an excellent roster add who should continue to produce

Benjamin St-Juste, Washington Football Team

After three straight first-timers, we finally get our first repeat rookie on the IDP Rookie Recap. This is St-Juste’s second appearance, as he scored 19.3 fantasy points this past weekend. Unlike most rookies who make this list, St-Juste has yet to make a start on the season. However, he is still playing 70% of the snaps per game.

This past week on the road at Buffalo, St-Juste played 61 of the defensive snaps (77%) in a loss to the Bills. He had his best game to date, with seven tackles — five being solos — and one PBU. He now has 14 tackles, 12 solos, and two PBUs on the season, making him one of the best rookie corners so far this season. St-Juste is another great CB option worth adding to your fantasy rosters.

Brandin Echols, New York Jets

This is also the second appearance for Echols on this weekly list. He has started all three games for the Jets and received a very consistent 40 to 46 snap count (67%). His snap percentage dropped to 61% this week, but he still played 41 snaps.

Head coach Robert Saleh has shown confidence in rolling with the rookie and it has paid off so far. Last weekend, against the Denver Broncos, Echols registered five tackles — all solos — and one PBU. He scored 16.8 fantasy points last week to rank eighth among all rookies. As you can see, there are plenty of streaming options at cornerback and Echols has been a very solid play.

Patrick Surtain II, Denver Broncos

Patrick Surtain II, who is making his second straight appearance on the list, scored 16.8 fantasy points while playing 50 of the defensive snaps (93%) in Week 3. He registered five tackles — all solos — and one PBU against the New York Jets last weekend. Surtain II is just rostered in 6% of MFL.com leagues and started in 29% of those.

Surtain II is the son of Patrick Surtain, who played ten years in the league for the Chiefs and Dolphins. Just like his father, Surtain II is a super talented athlete who can cover anywhere on the field. He was one of the most polished rookies in this draft class and now it’s showing on the field. Surtain II will make a great addition to your fantasy rosters for a long time to come.

Paulson Adebo, New Orleans Saints

The sixth cornerback this week, Paulson Adebo, finds himself on this list for the third consecutive week. In fact, he’s the only one to accomplish that this year. The Saints’ rookie corner scored 13.8 fantasy points last weekend, which was his third consecutive start. Adebo played 72 of the defensive snaps (100%) and recorded five tackles — all solos.

Through the first three weeks of the fantasy season, he scored 13.8, 17.8, and 13.8 fantasy points, making him one of the top fantasy rookies so far this season. Adebo is still being started in less than half (48%) of MFL.com leagues, which is too low for a rookie producing this highly. Whether you stream the position or keep a regular crew, Adebo is a legit option either way.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Cleveland Browns

Everyone has been waiting on the Browns’ rookie linebacker, Owusu-Koramoah, to break out. He did just that in Week 3 with four tackles, one TFL, half a sack, and two PBU performances against the Chicago Bears. Owusu-Koramoah scored 15.3 fantasy points on just 23 of the defensive snaps (51%) he played. He was started in 23% of MFL.com last week and that will surely balloon upwards going forward.

Owusu-Koramoah got off to a slow start, but his production increased when his snap count increased. That’s a trend that I see continuing, which is music to fantasy manager’s ears. He’s unlikely to be found on your waiver wire, but if so, then grab Owusu-Koramoah up quickly. He’s only going to get better and better, and possibly become the next big star in Cleveland.

Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys

Super rookie Micah Parsons makes a splash, no matter where he lines up. In his first game, Parsons started at linebacker, but in the last two games, he has started at defensive end. The Cowboy’s lack of pass rushers has made them move Parsons to DE to help out. That may be a big task for most rookies, but Parsons is no ordinary rook.

He played 37 of the defensive snaps (64%) on Monday night against the Eagles. On those snaps, he produced four tackles — three were solos — one TFL, half a sack, one QB hit, and one PBU. As you can see, he’s just so disruptive and hard to game plan for. Fantasy managers started Parsons in 68% of MFL.com leagues, which I thought was surprisingly low.

Defensive Line

Osa Odighizuwa (DT), Dallas Cowboys

In Week 3, Odighizuwa scored 22.3 fantasy points, recording four tackles — two solos — two QB hits, 1.5 sacks, and one TFL. He started all three games for Dallas this season and played 33 of the defensive snaps (67%) in Week 3.

The Cowboys have had all kinds of issues with personnel along their defensive line, so it’s been nice for them to have the rookie to lean on. Odighizuwa’s best value comes in position-specific leagues, where you start defensive tackles. If he continues to get starts and keep his snap counts over 50%, then he’s a viable fantasy option for your fantasy teams.

Cameron Sample (DE), Cincinnati Bengals

Sample has made this list for the second consecutive week. The Bengals rookie defensive end only played 31 of the defensive snaps (37%) last weekend but was super efficient on the ones he received. Sample recorded two tackles — both solos — one TFL, one sack, and one QB hit. With that type of efficiency, his snap count will continue to rise.

Sample scored 13 fantasy points last week and has a nice juicy matchup this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Not sure if he is a weekly must-start at this point, but if you play the matchups,  he can be a viable fantasy option. Less than 1% of MFL.com managers started Sample last week but is definitely worth a look this week. The Senior Bowl standout is still available in most leagues, so pick him up now.

Jaelan Phillips (DE), Miami Dolphins

We have the second straight defensive end on my IDP rookie recap. The Miami Dolphins’ rookie, Jaelan Phillips, is making his second appearance on the list. He scored 12.5 fantasy points last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. In his first career start, Phillips played 49 of the defensive snaps (59%). In that game, he recorded six tackles, with four being solos.

Fantasy managers started Phillips in 21% of MFL.com leagues in Week 3. As long as he is listed as a starter, that number will continue to rise. Phillips gives the Dolphins a nice young pass rusher to start opposite veteran Emmanuel Ogbah. The six tackles as a starter is an unexpected total, but a super valuable one if Phillips can keep near that pace for a season.

Safety

Caden Sterns, Denver Broncos

Sterns is the only safety on the list this week and is also our second Denver Bronco. Generally, rookies who receive low snap counts don’t make it on the weekly rookie recap list, but when they make impact plays it changes things. Sterns only played 13 of the defensive snaps (24%) for the game, but he made the most of them by producing two tackles — both solos — one PBU, and one INT that he returned 46 yards to set up a score.

Those of you who follow my draft work during the offseason know how high I was on Sterns. Along with Surtain II above, they landed with the Broncos at the right time. Together they can grow and develop with a nice mix of proven veterans and not feel the need to carry the load defensively. Sterns is widely available across most fantasy leagues, so now is the time to add him to your fantasy rosters.
