Second-year running back JK Dobbins was carted off the field after leaving the game with an apparent knee injury.

The Baltimore Ravens lost their star running back for the rest of the season Saturday, in the last preseason game! Many questions to why he was playing to begin with. During the Raven’s opening drive, JK Dobbins looked to have hyperextended his left knee while being tackled by the Washington defense. As soon as the play was finished, Dobbins was down on the field visibly grasping at his knee in pain. It is now confirmed that Dobbins did indeed tear the ACL in his left knee!

JK Dobbins was unable to put any pressure on the leg after the injury. Trainers helped him off the field to be evaluated in the medical tent. After being evaluated, he was carted to the locker room. This could be disastrous for fantasy managers who drafted JK Dobbins in redraft leagues this season!  He will more than likely miss the entire 2021 season now. His next focus will be rehab and preparing for 2022! Hopefully, anyone who is rostering him has a backup plan!

Hold or Fold?

Dynasty managers shouldn’t have as much to worry about. The ligament will be surgically repaired, the outlook for this type of injury is much better now with modern medicine. While JK Dobbins is sidelined, Gus Edwards should play a major role in the Ravens’ offense. If he’s available on the waiver wire, you should definitely make a move to get him on your roster. Justice Hill could also see some snaps as a change of pace back. Depending on team needs, it may not hurt into making a trade for Gus Edwards!
