It’s time to start looking who is your best options at corner for a deep playoff run. Here we rank the top 10 based off of season production and remaining strength of schedule.
1)Β Kareem Jackson- Houston Texans
Stats- 61 Tackles (49 solo), 5 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 11 passes dedensed, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery.
Remaining Schedule- Tennessee Titans (Give up 32nd most points to CB’s), Cleveland Browns (8th), Indianapolis Colts (20th), New York Jets (19th), Philadelphia Eagles (11th)
Kareem Jackson has been amazing in his age 30 season. His remaining schedule does not look that promising but those are the numbers each opponent gives up to Cornerbacks. Jackson has bounced all over the secondary for the Texans. If he does play Safety then the matchups are great, since we are talking CB’s that’s what we get. Jackson’s great season will not end now, he should continue to produce at a high level with plays like this:

2)Β Chris Harris- Denver Broncos
Stats- 42 Tackles (33 solo), 1 tackle forΒ loss, 8 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, 1 Touchdown.
Remaining Schedule- Pittsburgh Steelers( Give up the 2nd most points to CB’s), Cincinnati Bengals (12th), San Francisco 49ers (9th), Cleveland Browns (8th), Oakland Raiders (16th)
Chris Harris is a magnificent cornerback. He has been the best CB for the Broncos for a few year now (it wasn’t Aqib Talib). Harris plays a lot of slot corner which bodes well his last four matchups. All four teams use TE’s and slot receivers often. With Harris in the slot he comes up with a lot of passes defensed and should have no trouble keeping up with TE’s. Keep him in your lineups and see more plays like this:

3)Β Jaire Alexander- Green Bay Packers
Stats- 41 Tackles (38 solo), 1 tackle for a loss, 0.5 sack, 9 passes defensed, 1 interception.
Remaining Schedule- Minnesota Vikings (Give up the 4th most points to CB’s), Arizona Cardinals (6th), Atlanta Falcons (3rd), Chicago Bears (26th), New York Jets (19th)
Jaire Alexander is proving that he was worth his 1st round pick. Alexander has 9 pass deflections and does not miss many tackles. There is not a defined #1 cornerback on the Green Bay Packers so there is not somebody to avoid. The throws go to whoever and Alexander makes QB’s sorry. His last few matchups are very inviting for the Packers. The Vikings and Falcons throw the ball at an alarming rate. The Jets and the Cardinals are also employing rookie QB’s. Look at this great play in coverage:

4)Β Donte Jackson- Carolina Panthers
Stats- 42 Tackles (39 solo), 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 7 passes defensed, 4 interceptions, 1 forced fumble.
Remaining Schedule- Seattle Seahawks (Give up the 10th most points to CB’s), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Most), Cleveland Browns (8th), New Orleans Saints (18th), Atlanta Falcons (3rd)
Donte Jackson has had an awesome rookie campaign. He has been a sure tackler completing 39 of his 42 tackles and has been great in coverage. He trails only Jaire Alexander and Denzel Ward (both 1st round picks) in passes defensed for rookies. Jackson also has 4 interceptions this year which is tied for 2nd in the league trailing only Damonte Kazee. James Bradberry is on the opposite side so Jackson gets through at often. With his cake remaining schedule he should keep up his great scoring. Here is great game tape of Jackson:
An absolute CLINIC tape right here. Donte Jackson is a DAWG!!! pic.twitter.com/graqXiHomg

5) Stephone Gilmore- New England Patriots
Stats- 33 Tackles (30 solo), 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack, 12 passes defensed, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery.
Remaining Schedule- New York Jets (Give up the 19th most points to CB’s), Minnesota Vikings (4th), Miami Dolphins (24th), Pittsburgh Steelers (2nd), Buffalo Bills (7th)
Gilmore has been one of the hottest CB’s in the NFL. In his last six games he has 8 passes defensed and an interception. With the opportunity to face 3 of the worst 10 teams against cornerbacks in the last 5 games he should keep it going.
6)Β Eli Apple- New Orleans Saints
Stats- 42 Tackles (38 solo), 8 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovery.
Remaining Schedule- Atlanta Falcons (Give up the 3rd most points to CB’s), Dallas (31st), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1st), Carolina Panthers (22nd), Pittsburgh Steelers (2nd)
Eli Apple cannot take sole credit for the upgraded Saints defense. Although since he got there Week 7 they have played much better. Apple is targeted often since nobody will throw at Marshon Lattimore. The Saints pass rush has also gotten better due to the improved coverage. With remaining schedule and Lattimore on the opposite side, Apple should produce well. Here’s his first pick with the Saints:
Let's give a big round of applause for @Saints cornerback @EliApple13 on his first Saints interception against Cincinnati Bengals! ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ I know his mom @SurvivinAmerica is so PROUD of him! ππππ #BoonkGang #WHODAT βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ #NOvsCIN https://t.co/JsXE5rtFgq

7) Damarious Randall- Cleveland Browns
Stats- 54 Tackles (49 solo), 2 tackles for a loss, 7 passes defensed, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery.
Remaining Schedule- Cincinnati Bengals (Give up the 12th most points to CB’s), Houston Texans (27th), Carolina Panthers (22nd), Denver Broncos (5th), Cincinnati Bengals (12th)
Randall has been bouncing from safety to cornerback this year. His high tackle total is reflective of that. Randall is the best player in a Browns secondary that gets thrown at on a heavy basis. 3 of his last 5 games are good matchups, keep him in your lineup. He plays great coverage as it shows here with him covering JuJu Smith-Schuster:
Browns gave Damarious Randall snaps in the slot as the game wore on. Think they grew tired of JuJu killing BBC so they swapped the two out. This will be something to pay attention to as the season wears on because both do these roles really well. Gives flexibility. #BrownsFilmBDN pic.twitter.com/SDVZEGURyz

8)Β Kyle Fuller- Chicago Bears
Stats- 34 Tackles (28 solo), 13 passes defensed, 4 interceptions
Remaining Schedule- Detroit Lions (Give up the 23rd most points to CB’s), New York Giants (21st), Los Angeles Rams (14th), Green Bay Packers (13th), San Francisco 49ers (9th)
Kyle Fuller has 12 of his 13 passes defensed in the last 6 games. He has payed extremely well and has been a top fantasy scorer in many of those games. He finishes the season against the Packers and 49ers which should help him close out the fantasy playoffs with a bang. Look at the beautiful play he makes on the ball here:

9)Β Denzel Ward- Cleveland Browns
Stats- 42 Tackles (31 solo), 3 tackles for a loss, 10 passes defensed, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 blocked kick.
Remaining Schedule- Cincinnati Bengals (Give up the 12th most points to CB’s), Houston Texans (27th), Carolina Panthers (22nd), Denver Broncos (5th), Cincinnati Bengals (12th)
Denzel Ward in my opinion is the best rookie cornerback in the NFL. Many thought that the Browns should have selected Bradley Chubb, and maybe they should have, but Ward has played great. Having the Broncos and Bengals to finish out the season is not a bad way to end either. This ended up being a penalty but it’s plays like this that impress:

10)Β Steven Nelson- Kansas City Chiefs
Stats- 44 Tackles (37 solo), 2 tackles for a loss, 10 passes defensed, 3 interceptions.
Remaining Schedule- Bye, Oakland Raiders (Give up the 16th most points to CB’s) Baltimore Ravens (17th), Los Angeles Chargers (30th), Seattle Seahawks (10th)
Kansas City was looking for corner help after getting rid of Marcus Peters. Kendall Fuller has been impressive but the emergence of Nelson has been a god sent for the Chiefs. At least fantasy wise. His last 3 games he has 14 tackles (13 solo), 5 passes defensed and 2 interceptions. If he did not have a Bye or play the Ravens and Chargers, he would be higher. But he does finish against the Seahawks. He is lucky I put him on this list at all…remember this:

Those are my top 10 cornerbacks to target and start for the remainder of the season. Hopefully you will be making it into the fantasy playoffs with some of these guys on your roster. Good Luck!
