An in-depth waiver article that continues to be ahead of the game. Follow the path to fantasy success with the @FFProdigalSon Waiver Wire Week 8 edition.

We have been cranking the waiver pickups over the past few weeks. From our bullseyes through to our traps, we have continuously and consistently provided our readers with information to get ahead of the game. Check out the waiver wire week 8 offense edition!

The bye tsunami has past and for those who suffered the pain, it’s over. It’s time to dominate again. This week’s waiver edition is quite simple, unlike the past few weeks. It’s short and sweet!

One last note before we get to the waivers. I was overwhelmed with the amount of support given this past week from followers on Twitter. The Fantasy Football community is amazing and it’s up to us to continue the wave of positivity and collaboration for future writers to give it a go.

Week 7 Recap

Another hot week of waivers keeps us rolling.

The Bullseyes – Week 7

Michael Carter, RB, New York Jets

Michael Carter wasn’t special on the ground. But he did make up for it in PPR leagues catching 8 of 9 targets for 67 yards. You can continue to play him moving forward as a flex option in PPR leagues.

Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins

Start of the week and must add waiver last week. Tua Tagovailoa went off.

Week 7: 32/40 passing attempts, 291 yards, 4 touchdowns; 4 carries, 29 yards; 35.54 Fantasy Points

Be wary of Week 8 though. The Dolphins get the Buffalo Bills who return from the bye.

D’Ernest Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns

Some managers didn’t have a choice in Week 7, so plugged D’Ernest Johnson out of desperation. And it paid off.

Week 7: 22 carries, 146 yards, 1 touchdown; 2/2 catches 22 yards 26.80 Fantasy Points

Watch for news on Nick Chubb but, I expect Johnson to remain involved with Kareem Hunt still sidelined. He gets the Steelers Week 8 and, if both Chubb and Hunt remain sidelined, you can play him again knowing he is getting the volume.

Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

Daniel Jones gets the Kansas City Chiefs. He should have his weapons back also. Expect a high-volume passing game in Week 8 as the Giants try to keep up with an angry and frustrated Patrick Mahomes.

Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Miles Sanders left early with an injury and Kenneth Gainwell split the role with Boston Scott for the remainder of the game. Depending on the severity of the injury to Miles Sanders, I would use a 4% of FAAB trying to get Gainwell. But it is most likely a committee group moving forward at best.

Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Michael Gallup is eligible to return from IR in a hot Cowboys offense. We had him as a stash last week for deep rosters to beat the waivers. He is in the range of WR3 and as we noted in our waivers edition last week, should assume the Cedrick Wilson role.

Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

In Week 5 we named Pat Freiermuth as an obvious pickup candidate. Week 6 we had him as a stash. This week he is a must-add.

Week 6: 7/7 catches 58 yards 12.80 Fantasy Points

Hopefully, you beat the waiver.

Other obvious candidates:

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Boston Scott, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Rashod Bateman, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Russell Gage, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots

The Bold

Foster Moreau, TE, Las Vegas Raiders

If Darren Waller remains sidelined then Foster Moreau is who you want. But monitor the injury report on Waller. The Raiders have the bye Week 8 and return Week 9, so just be wary not to use a priority waiver pick on Foster Moreau. Waller could return.

Other Bold candidates (Deep Rosters Only):

Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans

Dante Pettis, WR, New York Giants

The Stashes

Trey Lance, QB, San Francisco 49ers

Kyle Shanahan has to decide which way he wants to go for the remainder of the season. Keep at it with Jimmy Garappolo or give Trey Lance the job they drafted to him to have?

Lance is a stash knowing the 49ers run home fantasy schedule. I would use a roster spot knowing what it could be for Trey Lance if he does get handed the job on a permanent basis.

Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints

Week 9 is when Michael Thomas has been touted for his return. Don’t expect WR elite talent of old. But in PPR leagues he has enough high upside. Stash him if he is still somehow available.

Other Stash candidates (Deep Rosters Only):

Jeff Wilson, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Kenyan Drake, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Wayne Gallman, RB, Atlanta Falcons

N’Keal Harry, WR, New England Patriots

The Traps

Brandon Bolden, RB, New England Patriots

Brandon Bolden is listed as a trap because he had a day out in Week 7. But so to did Damien Harris and J.J. Taylor. Don’t forget Rhamondre Stevenson was also a late scratching. Just can’t trust this Patriots backfield. Buy a lottery ticket.

Other Traps candidates:

Any Ravens Running Backs.

Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Allen Lazard, WR, Green Bay Packers
