Week 8 of college football is in the books! Let’s review the games and take a look at some NCAA IDP Waiver Adds for Week 9.
IDP for college football can be hard to figure out. Weekly, I will provide NCAA Waiver Adds for IDP players who are rostered under 50%, according to Fantrax. The goal of these articles is to give insight into both College Fantasy Redraft and Campus to Canton (C2C) leagues. Let’s take a look at some players to check for your league’s waiver wire!
Disclaimer: All league sizes and formats are different. Meaning some of these players may or may not be available in your league.
Defensive Linemen
Joey Noble, New Mexico – 29% rostered
Week 8 Stat Line: 6 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss
Noble has double-digit fantasy points in his last seven games and has three sacks already on the season. His highest sacks in a season are four and he should surpass that number this year. He also has had at least 60 snaps the last three games so has plenty of opportunities to rack up tackles.
Scott Matlock, Boise State – 27% rostered
Week 8 Stat Line: Bye Week
Matlock has at least 13 fantasy points in four of his last five games and has totaled five sacks in these games. This season, he has six sacks and that is triple the number he had in his career before this year. Matlock only pressures the passer 43% of his snaps, so it is impressive how effective he is in pressuring the QB. As a Sophomore, he is valuable in IDP C2C leagues and should be a good producer for the next years.
Linebacker
Colin Schooler, Texas Tech – 43% rostered
Week 8 Stat Line: 5 tackles
Schooler has at least 11 fantasy points in the last five games but only one sack on the season so far. Even though he is not accumulating sacks, Schooler has at least five tackles in each of the last five games. Schooler has only pressured the QB on 53 of 395 snaps so he is more involved in stopping the run game. As a Senior he is only valuable in redraft College Fantasy Leagues.
Defensive Backs
Evan Williams, Fresno State – 38% rostered
Week 8 Stat Line: 5 tackles, 1 Fumble Recovery
Williams has double-digit fantasy points in six of the last seven games and over 15 fantasy points in five of those games. He lines up in the box 254 of his total 423 snaps, so most of his work comes in stopping the run. Williams had two interceptions last week against Wyoming but in the season only has two total passes defended. As a Junior, Williams has another year of production in C2C formats.
