In this article I’ll give you the top 10 IDP takeaways from week 3 of the NFL!
Here are the top 10 IDP news and notes after week 3:
#1 – Colts Safety Nick Cross Getting More Snaps In The Box
Indianapolis Safeties Nick Cross and Julian Blackmon have essentially locked down the Colts safety roles through 3 weeks of the NFL, Nick Cross has played all but 1 snap through 3 games and Blackmon missed week 2 but was a 100% for weeks 1 & 3. While there has been a lot of movement on the field, this past week it seemed as if there was a change and Blackmon primarily played deep in the free safety role while Cross was more in the box. This led Cross to have a monster game this past week with 10 total tackles and a pass defensed. Nick Cross is establishing himself as a leader among all defensive players early, with 39 total tackles which is the most so far this season.
#2 – Daiyan Henley Established Himself As Green Dot Linebacker
What started as a 3 player rotation in Las Angeles, hasn’t hampered Linebacker Daiyan Henley who has moved himself into a 100% of snaps and Green Dot Linebacker role in the Chargers linebacker room. Henley is also leading the group with 28 total tackles over the last 3 games, and while rookie Junior Colson is out with a hamstring issue it seems that the rotation is gone and Henley and Denzel Perryman will be on the field for the majority of the snaps with Troy Dye coming in but only for around 10% of the game. While we need to monitor Colson’s return, it appears that Henley has secured his spot and snaps should come from Perryman when Colson is back.
