Week 6 IDP Sleepers

Note: All rankings for this Week 6 IDP Sleepers article are taken from the Week 6 rankings at FantasyPros. As always, let’s start things off by setting some expectations for this article. What this article will NOT be doing is telling you to expect big things from the “stars” of IDP. Projecting that Micah Parsons or Derwin James is going to have a great week isn’t really rocket science, nor will that help you. What this article WILL be doing is giving you players that have a great chance to outperform their weekly ranking. Ok, enough logistics! Let’s get to our Week 6 IDP Sleepers!

Defensive Line Week 6 Sleepers

Alex Highsmith – (DL27)

Week 6 Opponent: Hosting the Cleveland Browns

Kicking off the article, let’s start with a player who should be making his return to the field after being out with an injury: Alex Highsmith! I love Highsmith this week. The Browns will be rolling the Dillon Gabriel again this week, which should lead to some bad decisions for our defensive linemen to take advantage of. And who will be around distracting the offensive line? T.J. Watt!

Highsmith only had one full game this year before getting injured, so there’s not much tape on his usage or performance to speak of. In that one game, Highsmith did rack up 8 combined tackles and a sack, so that’s promising. I expect this kind of production to continue against the rookie play-caller, and for Highsmith to outperform his DL27 ranking.

Jaelan Phillips – (DL30)

Week 6 Opponent: Hosting the Los Angeles Chargers

Moving right along, let’s talk about Jaelan Phillips. Phillips has had an erratic career, never really living up to the hype he had coming into the league. Most of this is due to his injury problems. Well, this year Phillips has been entirely healthy and has been a steady producer. This last week, Phillips notched his first sack of the 2025 campaign, but he’s been playing close to 70% of defensive snaps.

With this kind of usage, and playing a Los Angeles Chargers team that has given up the third most sacks by a team this year, I think this type of production will continue. Ranked as the DL30, Phillips has the opportunity to keep his baby sack-streak rolling. Start him as your DL3 with confidence.

Quay Walker – (LB31)

Week 6 Opponent: Hosting the Cincinnati Bengals

This ranking does not make sense to me one bit. In the year, Walker has averaged a solid 10 combined tackles per game. While Walker has yet to produce any splash plays, this is an elite floor of tackles to rely on in any fantasy format. The Packers face the Bengals in a “get right” spot. The Bengals will potentially be trotting out Joe Flacco at QB, who should help the Bengals’ offense maintain some drives.

The Bengals also have one of the worst offensive lines in the league, which makes this a likely spot for Walker to notch that first splash play of the year. I see this game as one where Walker will be able to get his nice tackle-floor and break through in the big play department. Go ahead and start Walker as your LB3 with the potential for so much more.

Jihaad Campbell – (LB39)

Week 6 Opponent: Away at the New York Giants

Welcome to the league, rookie! Jihaad Campbell is having a decent start to his NFL career, but I’m especially bullish on him based on his last game. Last week, Campbell racked up a solid 11 combined tackles, going against a Denver team that tried to establish the run. Who do the Eagles get in Week 6? A New York Giants team that similarly wants to run the ball a lot to support their rookie playcaller Jaxon Dart!

With Campbell averaging 96% of defensive snaps, he’s in a position to continue to build off his great rookie IDP season. He’s ranked as the LB39 due to a lack of splash plays, but if he can rack up the kind of tackles he has thus far, I don’t care. You can start him as your LB3 with confidence this week.

Defensive Back Sleepers

Amani Hooker – (DB38)

Week 6 Opponent: On the road versus the Las Vegas Raiders

Amani Hooker, a longtime veteran of the league, has had a disappointing start to his fantasy year. This would explain his DB38 ranking going into Week 6. However, I think his fortunes are about to change! This upcoming week, Hooker gets to go against the Raiders and Geno Smith, who are obsessed with turning over the ball. Playing nearly 90% of defensive snaps, this bodes well for the defensive back.

Based on his current production this year, one can argue that his DB38 is justified. My argument is that playing against the Raiders allows Hooker the opportunity to outperform this ranking in the coming week. You probably won’t be starting him in anything other than very deep leagues, but with limited options in deeper leagues, I think you can do much worse than Hooker!

Craig Woodson – (DB44)

Week 6 Opponent: Away at the New Orleans Saints

Welcome to this edition of Matt’s very deep defensive back sleeper! On today’s episode, welcome Craig Woodson! The New England Patriots’ rookie has been on the field for 97% of defensive snaps, which is incredible usage for a defensive back. In those snaps, Woodson has averaged 5 combined tackles and a tackle for a loss. So why do I think he’s a sleeper this week? He’s playing the New Orleans Saints!

While Spencer Rattler hasn’t turned the ball over much this season, he has shown the propensity for mistakes over his career. The Patriots bolster a defensive line that is capable of making Rattler make mistakes. Insert Woodson! With his solid enough tackle floor and his DB44 ranking, Woodson is a serviceable flier in deeper leagues as your DB3 as a bye week filler.
