Safety Sleeper – Jeremy Chinn – Las Vegas Raiders

Chinn is a first year player with the Raiders. After four years with the Carolina Panthers, where he was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he signed a one year prove it deal with the Washington Commanders. With the Panthers, Chinn produced 117 tackles as a rookie and then produced substantially decreased production every year until he had just 30 tackles in 2023 while playing in 11 games. DE/Edge Sleeper – Tuli Tuipulotu – Los Angeles Chargers

Tuipulotu is a third year DE/Edge player who was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of USC. He got thrown right into the fire as a rookie by playing 74% of the defensive snaps with 11 starts. In that rookie year, he produced 53 tackles (37 solo), 8 tackles for a loss, 12 QB hits, 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass defended. Key note here is that Joey Bosa missed half the season.

For the 2024 season, the Chargers brought in a whole new regime headed by Jim Harbaugh. Bosa only missed three games, and Tuipulotu’s defensive snap count dropped to 67%. His tackles did decrease by 11 for the season, but his tackles for a loss and QB hits did increase. Tuipulotu’s sacks did double also doubled. He was more efficient with a few fewer defensive snaps and is now going into his all-important third year. Bosa has also left the building as he signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills. The only notable addition to the Chargers was fourth round pick Kyle Kennard out of South Carolina, who should not be a snap producer any time soon.
