Biggest Week 13 NFL Injuries IDP Fantasy Football Impacts!

Maxx Crosby (DE) Las Vegas Raiders

Injury: High Ankle Sprain
Injury Date: 12/8/2024
Expected Recovery Time: 2-3 months
Player to Target: DE K’Lavon Chaisson, DT Adam Butler

Let’s kick off this NFL Week 16 injuries article with an injury to one of the best players in football. Raiders DE Maxx Crosby is a guy with a motor unlike any other. He is a player who will never give up on the play and never give up on his team. This is evident by the way he battled through injuries all season, despite Las Vegas only winning two games. In Week 2 of the season, Crosby picked up the initial mild high ankle sprain.

week 8 NFL injuries

A high ankle sprain refers to damage to the ligaments that connect the lower leg bones. This group of ligaments is inherently strong and therefore requires a lot of force in an injury to cause damage. These injuries are more severe than the typical low ankle sprain and require closer to 4-6 weeks to heal even in mild cases. Crosby recovered from the initial injury but suffered a reinjury in Week 14. This led to even more damage to the high ankle which required surgery and his season to end.

With DE Maxx Crosby on the IR and out for the season, this creates an opportunity for some fellow Raider defenders. DE K’Lavon Chaisson is the edge rusher who has stepped up in Crosby’s absence to this point. DT Adam Butler has also continued to play well but really has stepped up his pass-rush production with Crosby out of the lineup. Look for these players to try to offset the major hole left by Crosby.
