Joe Flacco has been traded to the Jets.
The Philadelphia Eagles decided it was time. The Eagles traded Joe Flacco back to the New York Jets. Flacco spent one season in New York where he started five games in place of the injured Sam Darnold. Flacco is in the twilight of his career and isn’t much more than a desperation play for fantasy purposes.
Even if he manages to beat out Mike White for the starting job in New York, don’t expect much. In Flacco’s five games with the Jets in 2020, he had a completion percentage of 55.2 for 864 yards, 6 TDs, and 3 interceptions. He doesn’t have the negative points downside of Davis Mills, and Flacco’s upside is probably QB25 — at best — on bye weeks.
Mike White starting in Week 8 would not be a surprise. Depending on White’s performance, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Flacco start in Week 9.
Jets trading a conditional 6th-round pick to Philadelphia that can possibly be a 5th based on play time for QB Joe Flacco, per sources.
